The album was slowly distributed through underground channels and gave an apparent fame to the group.
The bands first real hit was the album Noch (Russian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Language) for Night) released in 1986; the six songs from the album were included in the Red Wave: 4 Underground Bands from the USSR compilation disc released in the U.S. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) in 1986.
Due to the beginning of the Perestroika (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perestroika) era the band came out of the underground, and the 1988 album Gruppa krovi (Russian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Language) for Blood Type) together with the movie Igla (Russian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Language) for The Needle) starring Viktor Tsoi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Tsoi) brought the band to the pinnacle of popularity.

The tape with the vocal track for the new album survived the accident. Russian for Tsoi lives!) and "КИНО". Writing these words became a kind of a memorial ritual among the fans of the band and even now new writings appear from time to time.
Most Kino songs were written by Viktor Tsoi. The ideas of liberty and democracy were often present (though they were called "anarchy"), as well as profound thoughts about life, death and love. Коллекционер оружия" - второй по счету полноценный альбом "Сплина". Демо-версия была записана в 1995 и издана тиражом что-то около двух тысяч экземпляров, и для Васильева альбом стал, в некотором роде, судьбоносным, потому что стоил ему карьеры - не пропускать же, в самом деле, запись из-за экзаменационной сессии. Собственно, именно на "Коллекционера оружия" SNC и клюнула, немедленно заключив с группой контракт на выпуск оного "Коллекционера..." и "Пыльной были".

Это правильно. Потому что по сравнению с "Пыльной былью", "Коллекционер оружия" - альбом куда более зрелый. Объяснений этому несколько. Во-первых, между этими двумя альбомами в группу пришёл Стас Березовский, который УМЕЕТ играть на гитаре. А во-вторых, Николай Ростоцкий НАУЧИЛСЯ играть на клавишах. Кроме того, Васильев в "Коллекционере оружия" окончательно зафиксировал ту дивную, чуть подвывающую манеру пения, за которую мы все его так любим. "Коллекционер оружия" полон фольклорных мотивов, что делает его местами похожим на сильно разбавленный вариант Инны Желанной. Нельзя, правда, не сказать, что в хитовой "Любовь идет по проводам" уже заметны ростки более позднего, жесткого, пост-гранжевого "Сплина".

Маришка Вереш, солистка группы «Shoking Blue», умерла 1 декабря в Нидерландах.
«Shoking Blue» записали два неплохих альбома, но в памяти слушателей осталась всего одна их песня, ставшая легендой: «Venus» (в России ее называют «Шизгара» - так на русский слух звучат слова припева: «She`s got it» в произношении Вереш).
