Avalon, released in 1982, was Roxy Music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roxy_Music)'s eighth (and, to date, final) studio album. Recorded in 1981-82 at Compass Point Studios (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compass_Point_Studios) in Nassau, Bahamas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nassau,_Bahamas), it is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of the band's later work. It was a huge commercial success, hitting #1 in the UK (for 3 weeks) and staying on the album charts for over a year

He has been a major and profoundly influential figure in popular music and culture for five decades.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan#cite_note-Newsweek97-0)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan#cite_note-Time100Dylan-1) Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1960s_in_music) when he was an informal chronicler and a seemingly reluctant figurehead of social unrest. A number of his early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowin%27_in_the_Wind)" and "The Times They Are a-Changin' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Times_They_Are_a-Changin%27_(song))" became anthems for the US civil rights (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American_Civil_Rights_Movement_(1955%E2%80%931968) )[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan#cite_note-2) and anti-war (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opposition_to_the_Vietnam_War)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan#cite_note-3) movements. Leaving his initial base in the culture of folk music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_folk_music_revival) behind, Dylan proceeded to revolutionize perceptions of the limits of popular music in 1965 with the six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Like_a_Rolling_Stone)"

Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Studio_album) by the American rock (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Rock_music) band The Doors (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/The_Doors). It was released in 1968 and became the band's first and only number one album and spawned their second US number one single, "Hello, I Love You (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Hello,_I_Love_You)". It also became the band's first hit album in the UK, where it peaked at #16 in the chart. With the exception of two songs, the material for this album was written after the band's initial songs from the formation of the group had been recorded for their debut album and second album, Strange Days (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Strange_Days_(album)). The highlight of this album was supposed to be the lengthy theatrical piece "Celebration of the Lizard (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Celebration_of_the_Lizard)", but in the end only the "Not to Touch the Earth (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Not_to_Touch_the_Earth)" section was used. The song "Waiting for the Sun (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Waiting_for_the_Sun_(song))" would not appear on an album until Morrison Hotel (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Morrison_Hotel).

"What It Takes" is a song by American (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/United_States) hard rock (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Hard_rock) band Aerosmith (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Aerosmith). It was written by Steven Tyler (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Steven_Tyler), Joe Perry (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Joe_Perry_(musician)), and Desmond Child (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Desmond_Child). It was released in 1990 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/1990_in_music) as the third single from Aerosmith's critically and commercially successful 1989 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/1989_in_music) album Pump (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Pump_(album))

Lyrics:

There goes my old girlfriend, there's another diamond ring
And, uh, all those late night promises I guess they don't mean a thing
So baby, what's the story? Did you find another man?
Is it easy to sleep in the bed that we made?
When you don't look back I guess the feelings start to fade away.
I used to feel your fire
But now it's cold inside
And you're back on the street like you didn't miss a beat, yeah

[Chorus:]
Tell me what it takes to let you go
Tell me how the pain's supposed to go
Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night
Without thinking you lost everything that was
good in your life to the toss of the dice?
Tell me what it takes to let you go.

Yeah
Girl, before I met you I was F.I.N.E. Fine
but your love made me a prisoner, yeah my heart's been doing time
You spent me up like money, then you hung me out to dry
It was easy to keep all your lies in disguise
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/a/aerosmith-lyrics/what-it-takes-lyrics.html ]
'Cause you had me in deep with the devil in your eyes

[Chorus]
Guitar!

Tell me that you're happy that you're on your own Yeah, yeah, yeah
Tell me that it's better when you're all alone
Tell me that your body doesn't miss my touch
Tell me that my lovin' didn't mean that much
Tell me you ain't dyin' when you're cryin' for me

[Chorus]

Tell me what it takes to let you go
Tell me how the pain's supposed to go
Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night
Without thinking you lost everything that was
good in your life to the toss of the dice?
Tell me who's to blame for thinkin' twice
No no no no 'cause I don't wanna burn in paradise
Ooo Let go, let go, let go,
let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go,
let it go, let it go, let it go,
let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go
I don't wanna burn, I don't wanna burn

"Mama, I'm Coming Home" is the third song on the 1991 Ozzy Osbourne (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Ozzy_Osbourne) heavy metal (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Heavy_metal_music) album No More Tears (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/No_More_Tears). The song is about his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Sharon_Osbourne), whom he nicknames "Mama", and his return to her following his imminent retirement. The song was co-written by Lemmy Kilmister (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Lemmy), frontman of the heavy metal group Motörhead (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Mot%C3%B6rhead). He was brought in as a songwriter for the No More Tears album, providing lyrics for the tracks "Hellraiser (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Hellraiser_(song))" (which Motörhead also later recorded), "Desire", and "I Don't Want to Change the World."
The single is Osbourne's only solo Top 40 single on the Billboard Hot 100 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100) chart, peaking at number 28; his only other top 40 hit was his duet with Lita Ford (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Lita_Ford), "Close My Eyes Forever (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Close_My_Eyes_Forever)" which peaked at number 8. It also reached number 2 on Billboard' (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Billboard_(magazine))s Mainstream Rock Tracks (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Mainstream_Rock_Tracks).

"Jump" is a song by the American rock (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Rock_music) group Van Halen (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Van_Halen). It is the only single (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Single_(music)) the group released in their career to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100). It was released in 1984 as the second track on the album 1984 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/1984_(Van_Halen_album)). The song breaks the mold of earlier Van Halen songs, mainly in its rolling synth (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Synthesizer) line (played on an Oberheim OB-Xa (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Oberheim_OB-Xa)), although the song contains the standard Eddie Van Halen (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Eddie_Van_Halen) guitar solo (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Guitar_solo), which Eddie claims as his favorite solo he never wrote. This refers to the fact that the producer spliced parts of two different takes to create the one heard in the song

Written by pianist and lead singer Freddie Mercury (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Freddie_Mercury), it featured on their 1974 album Sheer Heart Attack (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Sheer_Heart_Attack), and also appears on the band's compilation album, Greatest Hits (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Greatest_Hits_(Queen_album)). When released as a single, "Killer Queen" was Queen's breakthrough hit, reaching number two in the UK and number 12 in the United States. It was released as a double A-side (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Double_A-side) in the UK, the US and Canada (where it reached number 15 in the RPM 100 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/RPM_(magazine)) national singles chart),[4] (http://forum.russianamerica.com/f/#cite_note-3) with the song "Flick of the Wrist (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Flick_of_the_Wrist)". Mercury commented that he wrote the lyrics first before adding the musical arrangements. The recording features elaborate four-part harmonies (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Vocal_harmony) (particularly in the choruses (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Refrain), and also providing backing parts in the verses), and also an elaborate multitracked (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Multitrack_recording) guitar solo by Brian May (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Brian_May), including use of the "bell effect (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Bell_effect)". The song, in the first line, mentions the phrase "Let them eat cake (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Let_them_eat_cake)", a phrase attributed Marie Antoinette (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Marie_Antoinette): Let them eat cake, she said; Just like Marie Antoinette.

Produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Tony_Visconti), it was released both as a single and as the title track of the album "Heroes" (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/%22Heroes%22). Tangerine Dream is a German (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Germany) electronic music (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Electronic_music) group founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Edgar_Froese). The band has undergone many personnel changes over the years, with Froese being the only continuous member. Drummer and composer Klaus Schulze (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Klaus_Schulze) was briefly a member of an early lineup, but the most stable version of the group, during their influential mid-1970s period, was as a keyboard trio with Froese, Christopher Franke (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Christopher_Franke), and Peter Baumann (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Peter_Baumann). Early in the 1980s, Johannes Schmoelling (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Johannes_Schmoelling) replaced Baumann, and this lineup, too, was stable and extremely productive.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsH63qJlIMM

"On My Own" was a Billboard #1 hit duet by singers Patti LaBelle (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Patti_LaBelle) and Michael McDonald (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Michael_McDonald_(singer)) when it was released as a single in 1986. It was released from LaBelle's first platinum (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Platinum) album, Winner in You (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Winner_in_You) and was written and produced by Burt Bacharach (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Burt_Bacharach) and his former wife Carole Bayer Sager (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Carole_Bayer_Sager). The song was originally recorded by singer Dionne Warwick (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Dionne_Warwick) for inclusion on her album Friends (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Friends_(Dionne_Warwick_album)). It is unclear why the song was not included on the final tracklist. The song was based on a relationship that had reached its end with both parties going their separate ways in a melancholy state with the occasional option of coming back together again one day

The release was the first Deep Purple album to feature Ian Gillan on vocals and Roger Glover on bass. After the score was lost in 1970, it was performed again in 1999 with a recreated score. The 1969 performance was the first ever combination of rock music and a complete orchestra and has been cited as paving the way for other rock/orchestra performances such as Metallica's S&M concert and Roger Water's The Wall Berlin performance.

"Owner of a Lonely Heart" is a song by the progressive rock (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Progressive_rock) bandYes (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Yes_(band)). It is the opening track of their 1983 album 90125 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/90125). Written primarily by Trevor Rabin (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Trevor_Rabin), the song reached number one on the United States Billboard Hot 100 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100) — to date Yes's biggest chart success. Since then, it has seen many releases; the original release had "Our Song (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Our_Song_(Yes_song))" as the B-side, while others had various B-sides such as "Leave It (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Leave_It)", "Make It Easy (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Make_It_Easy)", and remixes of this song.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5a/Yes_-_Leave_It.jpg

Leave It" is a song by English rock band Yes (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Yes_(band)). It appears on their 1983 album, 90125 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/90125).

The song featured repeated single issues, most backed with remixes of the song or an a cappella (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/A_cappella) version. The original version was occasionally placed as the B-side of "Owner of a Lonely Heart (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Owner_of_a_Lonely_Heart)", and on another instance, the original version was found on a 12-inch single with another A-side track, "City of Love (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/City_of_Love)".[1] (http://forum.russianamerica.com/f/#cite_note-0) The song has the distinction of being the only track from 90125 virtually unaltered from the version recorded by Squire, Rabin, White and Kaye before Jon Anderson (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Jon_Anderson) rejoined.

The song peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 (http://forum.russianamerica.com/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100) and number 3 on the Top Album Rock Tracks chart.

Auberge was a #1 album in the UK in 1991. The title track also gave Rea one of his biggest chart hits, reaching #16 in the UK charts. Other songs released as singles were "Heaven", "Looking For The Summer" and "Winter Song". The greatest hit not released as a single is "You My Love".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2WzZ1gZjj4

http://pixhost.me/avaxhome/9d/6d/00106d9d_medium.jpeg

"Custard Pie" is the opening track on the English (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England) rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music) band Led Zeppelin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Led_Zeppelin)'s sixth album, Physical Graffiti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_Graffiti), released in 1975 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1975_in_music). The lyrics to the riff-heavy song pay homage to the blues songs of the Robert Johnson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Johnson_(musician)) era; specifically "Drop Down Mama" by Sleepy John Estes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleepy_John_Estes), "Shake 'Em on Down (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shake_%27Em_on_Down)" by Bukka White (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukka_White), and "I Want Some Of Your Pie" by Blind Boy Fuller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_Boy_Fuller).

The song contains somewhat difficult-to-comprehend lyrics, but, like several other songs on the album, they are full of sexual innuendo. In this case, "Custard Pie" refers to a woman's sexual organs and the song is rife with references to oral sex: "Your custard pie, yeah, sweet and nice / When you cut it mama, save me a slice", as well as "chewin' a piece of your custard pie".

"Custard Pie" contains a wah-wah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wah-wah_(music)) solo by guitarist Jimmy Page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Page), which was played through an ARP synthesizer. It also features an electric clavinet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clavinet) played by John Paul Jones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Paul_Jones_(musician)) and a harmonica (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonica) solo by vocalist Robert Plant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Plant)

George "Buddy" Guy (born July 30, 1936) is an American blues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues) guitarist and singer. Critically acclaimed, he is a pioneer of the Chicago blues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_blues) sound and has served as an influence to some of the most notable musicians of his generation. "A key influence on Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy put the Louisiana hurricane in 1960s electric Chicago blues as a member of Muddy Waters' band and as a house guitarist at Chess Records. A native of the Baton Rouge area, he combined a blazing modernism with a fierce grip on his roots, playing frantic leads heavy with swampy funk on Howlin' Wolf's 'Killing Floor' and Koko Taylor's 'Wang Dang Doodle' as well as on his own Chess sides and the fine series of records he made with harp man Junior Wells. One of the last active connections to the golden age of Chess, Guy still plays with his original fire."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nr0AbE6YfQ&feature=related

http://991.com/newGallery/The-Cure-Never-Enough-The-380883.jpg

The Cure are an English rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music) band formed in Crawley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawley), West Sussex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Sussex) in 1976. The band has experienced several line-up changes, with frontman, vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter Robert Smith (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Smith_(musician)) being the only constant member. The Cure first began releasing music in the late 1970s with its debut album Three Imaginary Boys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Imaginary_Boys) (1979); this, along with several early singles, placed the band as part of the post-punk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-punk) and New Wave (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Wave_music) movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_rock) revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s, the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_rock) genre.

"Just Like Heaven" is a song by the British alternative rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_rock) band The Cure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cure). The group wrote most of the song during recording sessions in southern France in 1987. The lyrics were written by the band's frontman Robert Smith (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Smith_(musician)), who drew inspiration from a past trip to the sea shore with his future wife. Before Smith had completed the lyrics, an instrumental version of the song was used as the theme for the French television show Les Enfants du Rock.

Still Got the Blues is a 1990 album (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Album) by guitarist Gary Moore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Moore). Prior to this album Moore's work had consisted of predominantly jazz-fusion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz-fusion) with Colosseum II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colosseum_II) and rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music) and hard rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_rock) styles including his work with Skid Row (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skid_Row_(blues-rock_band)), Thin Lizzy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin_Lizzy), G-Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-Force_(Gary_Moore_album)) as well as a large repertoire of solo work. This album, as evidenced by its title, is a departure from hard rock to an electric blues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_blues) style.
