Mandatory breakfast in schools

Hi mamas, did you know that LAUSD will be providing breakfasts to kids starting late 2015? Breakfasts will have juice, milk and sugary breakfast items. The crazy thing is that parents can't opt out, and only the kids can say no to the breakfast. What kid will say no to juice?

Do you believe LAUSD parents should have right to opt out of the Breakfast in Classroom Program?

The Breakfast In Classroom Program is coming to all LAUSD schools (elementray to high school) by the end of 2015. The current program does not offer a way for parents, teachers, or schools to opt out. If you wish to give parents the right to opt out and move breakfast out of the classroom and into the cafeteria, please sign this petition (even if you are not an LAUSD family, your signature helps).

Btw everything that the kids reject gets thrown out. Everyday they throw away tons of milk and other products def not the way to fight hunger.

I was informed that the reason they implement breakfast so that kids come to school on time instead of eating at home and running late.
