Building Collapse In Harlem

A building collapse near 124th Street and Park Avenue in Harlem this afternoon has suspended Metro North train service into and out of Grand Central.
Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Line train service has been temporarily suspended into and out of Grand Central Terminal because of a building collapse in the vicinity of the Harlem stop.
Some streets in the area have also been closed.
The collapse, which the Fire Department has now classified as a 2nd alarm, "major collapse," was first reported around 12:30 p.m.
It appears the building was vacant, according to firefighters at the scene. No injuries have been reported. It is unclear what caused the collapse or how bad the damage is.
A deputy fire chief says the building may be torn down if the Department of Buildings thinks that is what is needed.
