PERM POSITION
Location: NYC


Department Overview:
Equity Derivatives covers a variety of business lines, including Arbitrage, Volatility, Exotics and Convertible Bond trading.
Trading desks are currently in London, New York and Hong Kong with Sales in offices worldwide.
The Equity Derivatives Technology team is responsible for:
1. The delivery of technology initiatives around the core Equity Derivatives trading system, to a variety of business areas;
2. Front Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Control and Operations.
3. The delivery of front office trading tools.
4. The delivery of an Exotics system for pricing and risk valuation of those trades that exceed the specifications of the core trading system.


We are currently transforming our technology infrastructure in line with the bank's strategic initiatives.

Main Function:
The role is to be a FRONT/MIDDLE/BACK office facing support analyst to join the existing production services team.
The primary responsibility is to ensure the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of production systems, and realize the maximum value from them through continual technical and business process improvement.
The candidate should be:

1. An excellent communicator

2. good with users

3. able to work well in a cross-discipline team and alone with minimum supervision.

4. Pro-active, thorough, organized and energetic.

5. Excellent problem solver with a commitment to thorough root causes analysis and business process improvement.


Main Duties:
To be first line of contact for the Equity Derivatives Technology in location

To develop specialist knowledge in equity derivative systems, sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams

To liaise with Front, Middle and Back office on potential process improvements

To liaise with Development teams on future applications for EDT

To take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate

To pro-actively improve the quality of systems and service, and increase business value

To undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas:

capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting and documentation

To undertake focused, tactical development tasks as required

To uphold and champion policies, procedures and standards

To ensure efficient and accurate processing of upstream/downstream feeds and reports from the batch environment.

Experience and Skills Required & Preferred

3+ year's investment banking technology experience in a financial/trading application support role.

Equities product knowledge

Equity Derivative products knowledge (or other derivatives)

RDBMS/SQL

Scripting (e.g. Perl/shell, JavaScript, vbscript)

Excel

PL/SQL

CGI Scripting/HTML

Windows (Win2k / 2k3 / XP)

VBA

UNIX

Sophis


Education Required: BS in Computing
