The ideal candidate will have the following:
The team is responsible for 2nd line support of the Local, Metropolitan and Wide Area Networking structure. The team member will be responsible for Global support on a ‘follow-the-sun’ type model. Candidate will also be involved in BTB(Build The Bank) and RTB (Run The Bank) projects and their associated tasks, IE- implementation, configuration, financials, etc. Some anticipated projects candidate may be involved in are, addition of 2 new datacenters, technology refresh on existing network infrastructure and, but not limited to, support of low latency/high throughput market data infrastructure.
Main Job Function
As with all large, multiple site, multi-protocol networking environments, problems and changes occur. The primary function of the role will be to identify, determine and resolve these issues on an as required basis. Secondary functions are project management and analyze and ratify regional engineering efforts. For project management, candidate needs to complete the necessary tasks on time and within budget with each given project.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The capability to identify possible network affecting situations, faulty hardware or logical problems.
Access the network and via the use of their knowledge and available tools, identify and resolve the fault in a timely manner.
Manage projects to complete on time and within budget.
Complete weekly/daily tasks associated with operational support.
Perform oversight on engineering initiatives within the region.
Qualifications/Education Required
5-7 years of hands on experience with Cisco routers/switches. CCIE Certified Excellent written and verbal skills
Experience Required
Work experience in a large, multiple site, multi-protocol LAN & WAN, preferably within a global financial institution.
Experience Preferred
VOIP, Multicast.
Skills / Aptitude Required
Work with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
Skills / Aptitude Preferred
Cisco Natkits, Niksun analyzer, protocol analyzer, Spectrum
