Avoid the 40 Los Angeles County DUI Task Force
A countywide crackdown on drunk driving started Saturday and will last throughout the summer.
The California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were among the 40 law enforcement agencies in L.A. County that received a grant to run the program.
According to Wendy Soos, the Glendora Police Department received $1 million.
The "Avoid the 40 Los Angeles County DUI Task Force" is named for the number of law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles County that have joined forces to combat drunk driving.
"Don't drink and drive and you'll `avoid' an arrest," Soos said.
The grant was awarded by the state's Office of Traffic Safety.
