Компания по производству автотягачей MAN (спонсирующая выступления Кристиана Алберса) стала партнером команды MF1 Racing на ближайшие два года. "Все начинает срастаться как надо, - сказал в связи с этой новостью глава команды Колин Коллес. - Мы пытаемся обеспечить команде надежное будущее в Формуле 1, а это невозможно без поддержки серьезных партнеров. Мы рады тому, что компания MAN обеспечит нас своими тягачами, а кроме того, она будет и дальше поддерживать Кристиана Алберса. MAN - один из ведущих брендов на рынке автотягачей, и это соответствует нашим амбициям".

Согласно договору с MAN команда получит 10 магистральных тягачей.

Чемпион DTM Гэри Паффетт, показавший вчера лучшее время в первый день зимних тестов за рулем McLaren, комментирует свои впечатления от возвращения за руль Формулы 1 после двухлетнего перерыва...

Гэри Паффетт: "Я рад вернуться на тесты Формулы 1 и снова сесть за руль этой машины, правда с тех пор я набрался опыта, да и от DTM эта машина отличается гораздо меньше, чем от Формулы 3. Я сразу нашел общий язык с техническим персоналом команды, мы быстро определились с настройками, видимо в этом и секрет хорошего результата. Разгонная динамика и эффективность торможения McLaren великолепны, надеюсь меня почаще будут приглашать на тесты, работать с этой командой действительно интересно".


а тем времен под угрозой срыва уже два Гран-При - Бельгия до сих пор не может решить вопрос с финансированием, а в Монце жалуются на шумность гонок...
хотя...они проводятся то всего 4 дня в году, сложно видимо потерпеть людям...

SCHU HINTS AT RACING BEYOND '06

Michael Schumacher has hinted that he may opt to continue with Ferrari beyond 2006, despite continued speculation that the seven-time champion is considering retirement at the end of the season.

Schumacher told weekly German magazine Focus that to renew his Ferrari contract "would be the most logical thing to do. "

At 37, Schumacher is already the oldest driver on the grid and an extension could mean that he races well into his 40s.

But no-one is under the illusion that this could affect his ability to compete with his rivals, least of all him.

"Unlike soccer players F1 drivers don't have an age at which they have to retire," he said.

"With the passing of the years your reflexes slow, but that is compensated for by experience."

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo once again reiterated at Ferrari's Mugello launch on Tuesday that it is up to Schu to decide whether to continue or not.

"I don't really need to feel anything different," Schumacher said at the launch.

"There's one thing that is in your passport and another thing that you feel in your body and your brain.

"I've seen those guys around for quite a while now, I know them pretty well - we play soccer and do things together - and I don't have a feeling that I am an old man hopelessly lost against these young guys."

NEW FERRARI SHOWS ITS COLOURS

Ferrari officially unveiled its new 248 F1 challenger to the world at the team's 2006 launch in Mugello on Tuesday morning.

The team hopes that the new car, which was demonstrated around the Tuscan track by Michael Schumacher, can bring it back to winning ways after a year in the doldrums.

Ferrari suffered a disastrous 2005 campaign which saw it win only once, in the ill-fated US Grand Prix at Indianapolis.

So technical director Ross Brawn, chief designer Aldo Costa and old hand Rory Byrne have gone back to the drawing board with the 248 F1, which represents a fundamental departure from the team's recent design philosophy.

Principally, the new car features a V-keel front suspension similar to that used on last year's championship-winning Renault R24.

There are several other detailed aerodynamic changes on the car including lower tighter sidepods that are hollowed at the rear, fixed forward-pointing mirror stands, shorter exhaust pipes and a new centrally mounted rear-wing.

The team has also decided to continue with its centrally mounted, sprung, mini-wing at the front.


"It was mainly to do with the V8 engine and we imposed a radical change from both a mechanical and aerodynamic point of view," said Costa.


"The aerodynamics are still at a preliminary stage and will be until the first race of the season.

"As regards the chassis, this is totally new, above all in the centre section. We decided on this in order to optimise the weight distribution and lighten the entire structure.


"The same goes for the suspension, especially in the completely redesigned rear end.

"The transmission too is all-new (though constructed from composite materials) and also the differential.


"In building these two new elements in particular, we had to pay close attention to the characteristics of the V8. The greater vibrations generated by the engine brought more initial problems."

Schumacher was the first man to drive the new car at the team's Fiorano test track last week, but his new team-mate Felipe Massa also completed 84 laps in it last Friday.
