It will be primarily dedicated to training and running AI models
It will use 2.2 gigawatts of power, equivalent to the electricity needed to power roughly 1 million homes and approximately 300 million gallons of water per year
Trust me when I tell you. These data centers are like the oil industry on steroids. The water, powere and waste coming from these are 10x worse than oil refineries. These will not help any avg citizen. They will not create jobs-exactly the opposite.
AI data centers dump PFAS into our water supplies. They overwhelm aquifers and water sources. Causing municipalities to pull more water without the ability to treat the toxins that are getting pulled in.
The water is most concerning, but they made a deal on electricity:
