My dear, it takes A LOT to gross me out. I worked (or should I say volunteered) as EMT so have seen enough gross things. And BTW NB is part of what EMT has a legal right to assist with. Just saying...

So... I did try to search for any facts that insurance prefers to pay (much more) for CS than for NB, and couldn't find any. So could you post some links, please? I'm very curious to read...

There is a code for a c-section. From that code the Insurance company cannot know what was the purpose for the surgery - medical necessity or the woman's wish.

there are ways to distinguish elective and non-elective c-s
quite a few other cpts associated with ec-s and nec-s as well as different diagnosis codes
on a top of that, ins. company report to the state and doi on deliveries and type of delivery and so much other sh*t

Дак с етим-то как раз я согласна. Ето то, что обсуждалось ранее: любое [failure to progress in labor] (параметры которого в обшем не определены) можно выдать за необходимость.

А вот когда нет мед необходимости отнюдь не везде позволяются и приветствуются. И я НЕ верю, что [insurance company] предпочитает платить за кесарево. Кстати, когда подписываешься на индивидуальную страховку там есть вопрос было ли кесарево в прошлом. И если было то вообше говоря ето рассматривается как [pre-condition].
