...25 сентября 1942 г. Франкл, его жена и родители были депортированы в концентрационный лагерь Терезинштадт. В лагере Франкл встретил доктора Карла Флейшмана, который на тот момент вынашивал план по созданию организации психологической помощи вновь прибывающим заключенным. Организовать выполнение этой задачи он поручил Виктору Франклу, как бывшему психиатру...
Его жена была переведена в концентрационный лагерь Берген-Бельзен, где была убита. Отец Франкла скончался в Терезинштадте от отека легких, мать была убита в Аушвице.

27 апреля 1945 г. Франкл был освобожден американскими войсками. Из членов семьи Франкла выжила только сестра, эмигрировавшая в Австралию. (c)

* It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist, not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual.

* We can discover this meaning in life in three different ways: 1. By doing a deed; 2. By experiencing a value; and 3. By suffering.

* When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves.

* Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had acted wrongly the first time.

* The meaning of our existence is not invented by ourselves, but rather detected.

* everything can be taken from a man except one thing: the last of the human freedoms-to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances

* Man does not simply exist, but always decides what his existence will be, what he will become in the next moment

* Ever more people today have the means to live, but no meaning to live for.

* Each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible.

Я смотрел. Феноменальный фильм, ИМХО. A Бруно Ганц - ну вообще, я забыл что это актёр и видел только фюрера. Но смотреть надо только по Немецки иначе много красок теряются.
