Особенно мне понравилось слово "массово". 0.07% в год. Из которых большинство уезжает либо работать, либо покупать недвижимость в Испании/Хорватии/Черногории/Болгарии и жить на два дома. Интересно было почитать некоторые комменты на эту высосанную из пальца статью на самом сайте LA Times:

Honestly, I did not get the article at all. "Russians are leaving the country" - so they did over the last 25 years as do people in the rest of the world. Now, how "dangerouns" is this process? Well, there some numbers and some unnamed "expert" opinions given here. Let's compare them to those in the rest of the world. In Germany - an "economic engine of Europe" - according to Spiegel magazine, 734,000 people left the country in 2009 alone. In the UK, The Telegraph reported 207,000 emigrants in prosperous 2006. In Russia, where the population is about twice of that in Germany or the UK, the emigrant numbers turn out to be an order of magnitude lower! On the other side, if one compares the emigration from Russia now and 20 years ago, one can see a drastic reduction: from hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands - and the numbers were steadily declining over the last 10 years during Putin's presidency. At this level, one cannot really talk about "mass exodus", rather a normal demographc flow, even lower than in the rest of civilized world. So what is the problem? Is author nostalgic of communist "iron curtain" time when emigration was virtually non-existent because people simply weren't allowed to leave the country? I am certainly not and I'm glad Russians have the freedom of travel along with other other basic human rights.

Another fantasy non-existent problem for crazies and nationalists to get excited about.
People have been fleeing cold-weather States in the U.S. for better lives elsewhere for years. Big deal. They didn't wake up with empty cities one day, just lower real estate prices.

1.2 million Russians leaving in ten years? That is small compared with how many productive people have left California in the last five years.

What utter nonsense of poor and skewed-hyperbole journalism. How can 1.25 Million over an entire decade be called "exodus". That's only 125K per year in a current population of 125 Million; or about a 1% population loss over a decade.

I guess it would be inconvienient to mention that emmigration from Russia has never been lower (~40000/year) and over a quarter million people immigrate to Russia every year to find work and a better life. Less agenda, more facts, Loiko!
