My only advise is for the one charged with DUI to pay the price. It's very serious... If one disregards everyone else, let him pay the price... People start to learn after having paid the price..

те кто такие советы раздают (типа pay the price) - они не прокуроры. есть более правильное слово на ту же букву. я б сказала, но меня забанят.

Please, do not complain about English, since my Russian is pretty bad,
That has just been my personal humble opinion. I think that people, breaking the law, have to be punished regardless of how this person is related to you.
The only case, when I actually CAN help such person out, is when this person DID NOT do it and was accused unfairly.
That is why I would not become a lawyer.
Lawyers tend to protect ones who have committed crimes.
I cannot stand disorganizedness, dishonourness and dishonesty.
