Well, first of all, I'm not Polish ethnically, but, of course, Poland is very important for my heart. I love the Poles, Polish culture.
No offence, but they are MORE law-obeing than the Russians.

Anyways, the Poles do not consider Ukraine theirs today. Probably, 100 years ago, they thought that Western part of Ukraine was part of Poland-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Lvov had been populated predominately by the Poles before early 20th century. However, initially Galiciya is part of Kiewan Rus'.
Before, Galiciya was inhabited by Celtic tribes. The Celts played very important role in the ethnogenesis of Polish folk...
Galicians today genetically are still closer to people living in Krakow, than to people living in Kiew. Even though, culturally and linguistically Galicians are Ukranians.

- вообще-то "Малороссия" означает "первоначальную Россию", историческую прародину. Особенно по сравнению с Великороссией, т.е. землями, присоединёнными позже.

А "Украина" по происхождению - всего лишь термин для обозначения отдалённых провинций.

Sorry for creating an atmosphere of prejudice, if I have unknowingly managed to create such a dreadful atmosphere.
