The origin of this late-week storm is an upper-level disturbance sweeping through the Upper Midwest.

By late Thursday, low pressure is expected to develop off the Eastern Seaboard and intensify Friday, moving into or offshore of New England.

This potential storm may bring heavy rain, coastal flooding, and high winds to parts of the Northeast Thursday through Saturday.

At this time, the threat of high winds starts Thursday night and continues through Saturday from the I-95 corridor to New England. Apart from typical concerns over power outages, this wind could take a toll on the beautiful fall foliage currently underway, not to mention downing some trees or limbs. Northwest winds may linger, but should be diminished Sunday.
