Started as a hip garage band in Vladivostok during the last years of the Soviet Union, Mumiy Troll gained immense popularity with a combination of melodic pop-rock and Ilya Lagutenko's offbeat lyrics and coy, androgynous performance style. Their live performances burst with energy, warmth and debauchery.
Mumiy Troll remain one of Russia's most glamourous pop-stars. The band represented Russia at the Eurovision Contest 2001 (finished twelfth with Lady Alpine Blue). Now, they are set to conquer the United States with their live tour and the debut release, Comrade Ambassador.
