This reminded me old anecdote. I guess there is similar one in Russian but I know English version:
A boy comes home with F for Math. Dad pulled painfully his ear.
- Why dad??!!!
- 'Cause you have lousy marks, boy! Next time don't dare bringing bad marks!!!

Next day same boy brings A+ in Math. The dad again pulls his ear:
- Why now, dad??!!!!!
- Just in case, boy!!

same with you...saying "thank you" ...just in case...v kredit... smart move:crz:
