Led Zeppelin "Fool In The Rain"

    In Through the Out Door

December 1978 saw the group recording again, this time at ABBA's Polar Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. The resultant album was In Through the Out Door. After a decade of recording and touring, Led Zeppelin was now considered to be obsolete in some quarters, as mainstream musical tastes had moved in favour of disco, and the college audience momentarily turned to punk rock. Perhaps in response to shifting trends, In Through the Out Door features a great deal of sonic experimentation, making much use of Jones' well-wrought keyboard skills, notably in synthesiser driven sections of the ten-and-one-half minute long "Carouselambra", and in "Fool in the Rain", which exhibits a Latin feel. These departures from the band's usual style once again drew mixed reactions from fans and critics. Nevertheless, the band still commanded legions of loyal fans, and the album easily reached #1 in the UK and the US (where it became the first album by a rock band to debut at #1 on the Billboard album chart). Other highlights include, "In the Evening", which includes a downbeat interlude which would predate a similar technique used by later grunge bands such as Nirvana, and "All My Love", Robert Plant's tribute to his late son.

"Fool in the Rain" is a song on English rock band Led Zeppelin's 1979 album, In Through The Out Door. In 1980, it was their final song to ever make the pop singles charts, reaching #21[1].
The song exhibits a Latin feel; Jimmy Page got the idea for the Samba beat from watching the World Cup soccer tournament in 1978. Argentina was the host country, and he heard a lot of Samba rhythms while watching. Drummer John Bonham plays a New Orleans-style shuffle beat, along with a samba-style breakdown. A master drum track shows that the samba breakdown (2:25) was recorded separately. Guitarist Jimmy Page uses an MXR Blue Box effect pedal during the solo to produce the octave sound.
The song is about a guy who is supposed to meet a woman on a certain corner. When the woman doesn't show up, he thinks he's been stood up. It turns out he was just standing on the wrong corner, and is now a "Fool in the Rain."

    Kiss "Rock'n'Roll All Nite"

KISS in concert in Boston, 2004, left to right: Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, Paul Stanley and Eric Singer.

"Rock and Roll All Nite" - is a song by KISS, originally released on their 1975 album Dressed to Kill. It was released as the A-side of their fifth single, with the album track "Getaway." The studio version of the song peaked at #68 on the Billboard singles chart, besting the band's previous charting single, "Kissin' Time" (#83). A subsequent live version released as a single in October 1975, eventually reaching #12, the first of six Top 20 songs for KISS in the 1970s.[1] Since then, it has become KISS's most identifiable song, and has served as one of the group's closing concert numbers in almost every concert since 1976.

Thin Lizzy "Whiskey In The Jar"

"Whiskey in the Jar" is a famous Irish traditional song about a highwayman (usually in the Cork and Kerry mountains), who is betrayed by his wife or lover. It is one of the most widely performed traditional Irish songs, and has been recorded by groups such as The Dubliners, The Pogues, Peter, Paul and Mary, The Highwaymen, the LeperKhanz, Roger Whittaker, the Poxy Boggards, and The Limeliters. It was also given a rock veneer by Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, with iconic lead singer Phil Lynott in 1973 ( in album "Vagabonds of the Western World ). Thin Lizzy's version has since been covered by U2, Pulp (1995), Smokie, Metallica (1998) and Belle & Sebastian (2006). Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead and David Grisman recorded a Bluegrass cover of this song together. Finnish band Eläkeläiset recorded a Humppa version called Humppamaratooni.

Vagabonds of the Western World is the third studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1973 (see 1973 in music). It was also their last album with original guitarist Eric Bell.

    Deep Purple "Fireball"

Fireball is a hard rock album by Deep Purple. It was released in 1971 and was the second studio LP by the classic lineup of the group.
The hit single from the album sessions was the boogie-inspired "Strange Kind of Woman", which appeared on the U.S and Japanese version of the album in place of "Demon's Eye".
On an interesting side note, this was the first album owned by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and likewise had a profound impact and influence on him musically.

"Fireball" is the opening song of the album of the same name by the English hard rock band Deep Purple.
The song begins with an air conditioning unit being turned on and the drums begin at bar 2 at 240 bpm. It is one of the only Deep Purple songs to feature Ian Paice using a double-bass pedal; when performed live, a roadie brings on another bass drum to perform the song, only to remove it when it is finished. Hence it is not performed live very often. However, it has been performed during the ongoing Rapture of the Deep Tour.
The guitar, bass, organ and vocals join in on bar 10 in the key of A, although most of the song's riff is in Bm.
Fireball is an odd song for Deep Purple as it features no guitar solo. Instead it features a bass solo in the key of F#m which then modulates into an organ solo in Bm.
The song ends in a fade out with ad-libbing from the organ. The beat is accented with a tambourine played by Ian Gillan.

    SoundGarden "Black Hole Sun"

"Black Hole Sun" is a song by 1990s grunge band Soundgarden. It originally appeared on their 1994 album Superunknown and was the second single released from it (the previous one being "Spoonman"). It would later appear on the band's greatest hits album A-Sides. In many respects it is clearly the band's most recognizable song, and it was the most popular grunge song of 1994. In 1995 it won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
Released as a single in the summer of 1994, the song's success came shortly after the death of the grunge rock icon Kurt Cobain.
