Foreigner is a rock and roll band formed in Rochester, New York, USA in 1976 by Lou Gramm (Louis Grammatico), along with veteran musicians Mick Jones and Ian McDonald (see 1976 in music). Despite accusations of formulaic commercialism, Foreigner's unique style of arena rock with keyboard flourishes has racked up sales of over 50 million records worldwide to date.

Robert Plant "Ship Of Fools"




Robert Anthony Plant (born 20 August 1948, West Bromwich, Staffordshire) is a British rock singer famous for being the frontman for the band Led Zeppelin. He is known for his powerful style with a wide vocal range.
After the band's breakup following the sudden death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Plant pursued a successful solo career. Popular tracks from this period include "Big Log," "Tall Cool One," and "I Believe." In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star group with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck called The Honeydrippers, who had a Top Ten hit with a remake of the Phil Phillips' tune, "Sea of Love".

Megadeth "Symphony of Destruction"





Megadeth" is an American speed/heavy/thrash metal band led by Dave Mustaine. The group was formed in 1983, disbanded in 2002, and reformed in 2004. Megadeth is often mentioned as one of the "big four" of thrash metal, along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer.
Shortly after lead guitarist Dave Mustaine was fired from Metallica due to alcohol problems, drug abuse and personality conflicts, Mustaine, guitarist Greg Handevidt and bassist David Ellefson formed Megadeth. As Mustaine himself says, "I could only focus on one thing [after being kicked out of Metallica]: I wanted blood... theirs." After searching for a vocalist and not finding what he wanted, Mustaine became the band's singer and primary lyricist, as well as the main songwriter and rhythm guitarist.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer "From The Beginning"





Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) was a British progressive rock group. In the 1970s, they were extremely popular, selling over 30 million albums and headlining huge concerts. The ELP sound was heavily dominated by the Hammond organ and Moog synthesizer of the flamboyant Emerson. The band's compositions were heavily influenced by classical music in addition to jazz and – some say – hard rock. Many of their pieces are arrangements of, or contain quotations from, classical music, and they can be said to fit into the sub-genre of symphonic rock (their style came in for heavy abuse from critics; a popular joke of the time went, "How do you spell pretentious? ...ELP").

Styx "Come Sail Away"





Styx is the first musical act to ever have four consecutive triple platinum albums. Through the late 1970s the band enjoyed its greatest success. By 1980, Styx had (over the course of several albums) established themselves as a positive band in terms of lyrics, criticizing unemployment ("Blue Collar Man"), consumerism ("The Grand Illusion"), and materialism ("Pieces of Eight"). As teen idols, Styx also topped magazine polls for "Most Popular Rock Band."
