    Deep Purple: "Lazy"

Machine Head is the third Mk II (sixth overall) Deep Purple studio album. It was recorded in Montreaux, Switzerland in December 1971 and released in March 1972. The album has been very influential in the development of heavy metal music.
In 2001 Q magazine named it as one of the 50 Heaviest Albums Of All Time.

    Led Zeppelin "Whole Lotta Love"

The second record of Led Zeppelin , simply titled Led Zeppelin II, followed the album Led Zeppelin in similar style later that year: the album begins with the bludgeoning riff of "Whole Lotta Love," which, driven by the rhythm section of Bonham on drums and Jones on bass, defined their sound at the time.Led Zeppelin II was an even greater success for the group, reaching the Number 1 chart position in both the US and the UK.

    Black Sabbath "Paranoid"

Black Sabbath, often called Sabbath by fans, is a British heavy metal band, originally comprising Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Terrance "Geezer" Butler (bass), and Bill Ward (drums).
One of the definitive heavy metal bands, Black Sabbath remain a dominant influence in the genre they helped originate.[1] VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock ranked them second, behind Led Zeppelin. [2]

Pink Floyd "One Of These Days"

Pink Floyd's sound was considerably more focused on Meddle (1971), with the 23-minute epic "Echoes" (sample (help·info)) taking up the second side of the LP. "Echoes" is a smooth progressive rock song with extended guitar and keyboard solos and a long segue in the middle consisting largely of synthesized whalesong produced on guitar, along with samples of seagull cries, described by Waters as a "sonic poem".[20] Meddle was considered by Nick Mason to be "the first real Pink Floyd album. It introduced the idea of a theme that can be returned to."[21] The album had the sound and style of the succeeding breakthrough-era Pink Floyd albums but stripped away the orchestra that was prominent in Atom Heart Mother.[22] Meddle also included the atmospheric "One of These Days" (sample), a concert favourite featuring Nick Mason's menacing one-line vocal ("One of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces"), distorted and bluesy slide guitar, and a melody that at one point segues into a throbbing synthetic pulse quoting the theme tune of the cult classic science fiction television show Doctor Who.

    Creed "What's This Life For"

Creed is a Post-grunge group that became one of the best selling rock bands of the late '90s and early 2000s. While the original grunge groups were experimenting with new sounds at the time, Creed adapted grunge into a radio-friendly style, selling millions of albums with it. Despite their commercial success and widespread popularity, Creed was slammed for their formulaic sound and accused by critics of being derivative of famed Seattle grunge band Pearl Jam, as some believe Creed lead singer Scott Stapp's vocals imitate those of Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder. Notably the band inspired a slew of copycats like Puddle of Mudd that embraced the commercial grunge sound.

    Collective Soul "Shine"

Collective Soul are an alternative rock/post-grunge band from Stockbridge, Georgia, USA. Throughout the 1990's and into the 2000's they have enjoyed major commercial popularity on alternative rock and mainstream rock radio. They have composed hook-laden lush melodies on top of heavy fluent guitar riffs reminiscent of classic rock and hard rock artists from the 70's and 80's. Some of their main influences are Elvis Presley, Elton John, The Cars and The Beatles. Some have called Collective Soul a Christian rock band, a styling the band has repeatedly denied. They do, however, admit that their lyrics are often spiritual in nature.

    Deep Purple"Sail Away"

Deep Purple 1974, David Coverdale & Glenn Hughes:

The classic Deep Purple Mk 2 line-up continued to work and record into 1973, releasing the album Who Do We Think We Are (1973), featuring the hit single Woman from Tokyo, but tensions within the band were more noticeable than ever. The bad feelings culminated in Ian Gillan quitting the band after another European tour, and Roger Glover being pushed out with him. Their replacements were an unknown singer from northern England, David Coverdale, and bassist Glenn Hughes, formerly of Trapeze. This new line-up continued into 1974 with the heavy blues/rock album Burn, another highly successful release. Hughes and Coverdale added a funky R&B/soul element to the band's music, a sound that was even more apparent on the 1974 release Stormbringer. Blackmore was not happy with the results, and as a result left the band in 1975 to form his own band Rainbow.
