Thin Lizzy "The Boys Are Back In Town"




Thin Lizzy was an Irish Rock band, formed in Dublin in 1969. The band was led by bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott. They are best-known for their 1976 song "The Boys Are Back In Town", a major international hit still played on hard rock and classic rock radio.
Like most other groups, Thin Lizzy borrowed many of their techniques from other musicians; however, Thin Lizzy is now widely recognized as one of the first hard rock bands to employ double lead guitar harmony - a technique later refined and popularized, especially by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal; groups such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Examples include "The Boys Are Back in Town" and "Cowboy Song" from Jailbreak. Brian Robertson's unconventional use of the wah-pedal as an extension of the instrument during soloing rather than as a purely rhymic effect, as described in the Total Accuracy video "Still in Love with the Blues" (featuring Brian Robertson & Stuart Bull), is also generally regarded as a pioneering, perhaps unique use of the effect.
Fighting (1975) was their first album success, however the following album, Jailbreak, was a smash hit thanks to the singles "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back in Town", their most successful and remembered songs.

Joe Walsh (born November 20, 1947) is an American guitarist and rock musician. He came to widespread attention in 1969 after replacing Glen Schwartz as lead guitarist for The James Gang, an American power trio.
After releasing another studio album and a live set, Walsh was invited to join The Eagles in 1976, replacing departing guitarist Bernie Leadon. He brought a harder-edged sound to the group. As the Eagles began to decline after the release of Hotel California, Walsh re-ignited his solo career with the well-received discs But Seriously Folks (1978) (which featured his hit comic depiction of rock stardom, Life's Been Good) and There Goes the Neighborhood (1981). He continued to record and release albums throughout the 1980s, but musical trends had passed him by and he maintained a very low profile until the late-1990s Eagles reunion and tour. Walsh sang the US National Anthem at the beginning of Game 4 of the 1995 World Series.
A versatile guitarist, Walsh's abilities on acoustic, electric, and slide guitar have also made him well-regarded as a featured player or guest soloist; Walsh has recorded and performed with many other artists including Dan Fogelberg, Steve Winwood, The Who's John Entwistle and on the first two Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band tours. In 2004, Walsh performed live before a huge crowd at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Texas.

Sweet (referred to as The Sweet on singles and albums before 1976) were a popular 1970s British rock band. Although Sweet were largely known for their glam rock image, and several hit singles - many of them being so-called teenage anthems - they also released several albums throughout a ten year career. The extent of Sweet's domination of the charts in Europe resulted in eight number one singles in Germany, with pop oriented tunes as "Co Co", "Little Willy", and "Wig Wam Bam". Sweet's success continued with more rock oriented tunes, such as "Block Buster", "Hellraiser", "Ballroom Blitz", "Teenage Rampage", and "Fox On The Run". The group had a world-wide following (achieving 18 top 20 hit singles) and were most notably popular in the UK, Germany, Holland and Australia.

The classic Sweet line-up consisted of vocalist Brian Connolly, drummer Mick Tucker, bassist Steve Priest, and guitarist Andy Scott. Sweet's origins go back to 1965, with UK soul band Wainwright's Gentlemen, which included drummer Mick Tucker and vocalist Ian Gillan. The group were limited to small UK clubs playing a mixture of R&B and psychedelia. Gillan quit in May 1965 to join Episode Six, and later, Deep Purple. Gillan's replacement was vocalist Brian Connolly.

Suzi Quatro (born Susan Kay Quatro on June 3, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan.) is a singer, bassist, radio personality and actress. Her father, Art Quatro, was of Italian descent and her mother, Helen Rebel, was of Hungarian ancestry. Her second single, "Can the Can" (1973) was a number 1 hit throughout Europe and in Australia. It was followed up by three further major hits in "48 Crash" , "Daytona Demon" and "Devil Gate Drive" on RAK Records. Her first two albums were also huge European and Australian successes.

Bob Seger "Night Moves"

Robert Clark "Bob" Seger (born May 6, 1945 in Dearborn, Michigan) is an American rock musician who achieved his greatest success in the 1970s and 1980s. Seger achieved a commercial breakthrough with his 1976 album Night Moves which featured several hits including the highly evocative title song. Subsequently Seger had success with rockers such as "Hollywood Nights" and mellower mid-tempo ballads such as "We've Got Tonight", "Fire Lake". Seger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15, 2004.
The Encyclopedia of Rock And Roll stated that "His throaty, authoritative delivery is a pleasure to listen to, and the Silver Bullet Band is superb."

Thomas Earl Petty (born October 20, 1950) is an American musician.
Petty has been honored with 16 Grammy Award nominations since 1981. In that year he received his first nomination for "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" in the category of Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group With Vocal. Petty earned a Grammy Award in 1989 for Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group With Vocal for his work with the Traveling Wilburys. In 1994 he received another two Grammy Awards: Best Male Rock Vocal Performance (for "You Don't Know How It Feels") and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical). Wildflowers also garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

Lynyrd Skynyrd: "Saturday Night Special"




Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American Southern rock band, described by All Music Guide's Stephen Thomas Erlewine as "the definitive Southern rock band, fusing the overdriven power of blues-rock with a rebellious, Southern image and a hard rock swagger." [1] The band reached prominence during the 1970s, under the leadership of vocalist and primary songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, until his death in 1977.
Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006. Lynyrd Skynyrd was one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed Southern Rock groups of the 1970's. Their distinctive triple-lead guitar sound made their songs "Freebird", and "Sweet Home Alabama".
