"I'll Stand by You" is a song by The Pretenders from their sixth studio album Last of the Independents (1994). It was released as the album's second single in 1994 (see 1994 in music) and reached number sixteen on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, the top forty on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and number ten in the United Kingdom. It charted higher in the UK and U.S. than "Night in My Veins", the album's first single.

Marvin Gaye "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)"




"Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)" was the second single from Marvin Gaye's legendary 1971 album, What's Going On.
Following the breakthrough of the title track's success, this song, written solely by Gaye, became one of his most poignant anthems of sorrow at the world dealing with the environment. Led by Gaye playing piano, strings conducted by Paul Riser, multi-tracking vocals from Gaye and additional background vocals by The Andantes, the instrumentals provided by The Funk Brothers and a leading sax solo by Wild Bill Moore, the song rose to #4 on Billboard's Pop Singles chart and #1 for two weeks on the R&B singles charts on August 14 through to August 27, 1971. As the single became his second million seller from What's Going On the album crashed on the soul album charts in the top five, and began charging up the pop rankings. "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)" soon became one of Gaye's most famous songs in his extensive catalogue. In 2002 it was his third single recording to win a "Grammy Hall of Fame" Award.

Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting"




Richard Noel Marx (born September 16, 1963 in Winnetka, Illinois) is an adult contemporary singer, songwriter and record producer. He had a string of successful hit singles in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including "Right Here Waiting," "Hazard," "Endless Summer Nights" and "Hold On to the Nights." Although most of his successful songs were slow ballads like these, many of his songs had an upbeat, classic rock style, such as "Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better," "Satisfied," and "Too Late to Say Goodbye". Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the top 5 on the US charts.

Repeat Offender, Richard’s second release (May 1989) went triple platinum within four months and sold over 5 million copies. Repeat Offender was the result of the energy generated from over a year and a half on the road and was written or co-written entirely by Richard. "Some people might think that it would be easier this time around, that I could just kick back," Richard said at the time, "but the truth is, it’s harder, I’ve got more to prove. So I’ve tried to make an album that takes me further than the first one."
The first two singles, "Satisfied" and the platinum selling "Right Here Waiting," both reached #1, completing a string of three consecutive No. 1 singles. When the third single from Repeat Offender, "Angelia" climbed to #4, Richard became the first solo artist to reach the Top 5 with his first seven singles.

Caroline was born in Oss (the Netherlands). She moved with her family to Germany in the late 1970s. In 1980 she was a member of the girl quartet "Optimal". After that (starting in 1985) she cooperated with Dieter Bohlen under the name C.C.Catch.
Dieter Bohlen was the driving force behind her records, writing and producing all the songs. This was the main reason for the ending of their collaboration in 1989. Caroline wanted to participate in the creative process by contributing her own material, but Dieter did not agree.
After splitting with Bohlen she continued her career, but with moderate success...
