Скажем, человек, который тебе дорог, мучается от неизлечимой болезни, у него постоянные боли. Да, эта тема поднималсь много раз, но тебя это не волновало, пока не коснулось непосредственно.
У человека уже депрессия от постоянных болей.
Видеть это невыносимо тяжело.
Человек просит тебя "помочь" уйти.
То ли мужества не хватает, то ли человек религиозен...
Способен ли ты видеть эти муки и постоянно говорить "нет, я этого не сделаю"? Скажи мне честно.

Давай проще. СНГ. Молодая семья живёт в квартире родителей. И этот старпёр(ка) занимает целую комнату, шаркает, покашливает, суёт свой нос.. В результате старые люди лидируют во всех рейтингах (и во всех странах) по жестокому обращению вплоть до выбрасывания оных на улицу, продажи в рабство и просто убийства..

Нужно исходить из естественности и полезности для всего живого на земном шаре. Если для поддержания жизни старого человека, который уже не узнаёт родственников, не может ходить надо вырубить целый лес, убить в этом лесу всех животных, построить электростанцию которая выработает энергию для его мед. аппаратуры и при этом загадит небо и реки.. я голосую за эвантазию даже без согласия родственников.

Я конечно против крайностей вроде убийства стариков (как было в каких-то государствах средневековья) и насильственных абортов (часто практикуемых в Китае и С.Корее чтобы сократить популяцию). Всё должно быть мягко, экономически и морально: делать детей должно стать дорого и непопулярно во всём мире. Людям которые не могут жить без машины - должно быть дорого (что уже есть), платить должны они сами или родтсвенники (сейчас больше из государства деньги качают) и самое главное неэтично и аморально. Сегодня люди считают, что тело с умершим мозгом должно "существовать" как можно дольше и это этично. Должно быть наоборот - неэтично.

untamed - ты неправа, что мнение людей несовпадающее с тобой подвергаешь крайне резкой критике. Таким образом ты уподобляешся правительствам тоталитарных государств готовых заключить в психушку каждого, кто высказал иное мнение ("инакомыслящих"). :| Это удивительно, т.к. в большинстве случаев ты рассудительна..

Я подвергла критике только оскорбления детей политических лидеров - это низко, на мой взгляд. Так ведут себя в гетто люди, кичащиеся своей низкой культурой, точнее отсутствием оной, оскорбляя при ссоре "Your mama...". Oбама обратился в свое время к media с просьбой оставить семьи и, особенно детей политиков в покое. В остальных случаях, я уважаю чужое мнение.
Для меня это неприемлемо.

REVISED OATH FOR DOCTORS

This more comprehensive Oath was drawn by Dr. Leo Rebello in 2003, since Hippocrates Oath is now partly outdated being centuries old. This revised Oath has been widely circulated, accepted and appreciated.

1st July is celebrated as Doctors Day all over the world. The day usually passes without a whimper. Many doctors have forgotten their Hippocratic oath or humanism. Therefore, I would like to administer the following oath to the doctors to serve as a reminder as to how important is their profession. Doctors to please repeat after me.


I, -------------, do hereby swear on this solemn day that :-
I shall not prescribe unnecessary medicines and tests to my patients;
I shall not give false counseling;
I shall not overcharge and accept cuts and gifts;
I shall not rape tiny tots with mercury laced innoculations or vaccinations, for they pollute the blood stream of small children leading to serious diseases like AIDS, Cancers, Autism, etc.;
I shall not prescribe lethal drugs, like anti-retrovirals, chemotherapy, or give ECT to my patients;

I shall not indulge in human organ thefts to the detriment of my patients;
I shall not be afraid of any authority and fabricate medical records or give false evidence;
I shall not exploit students studying under me;
I shall not manipulate findings or results to win grants or awards.

I, -------------, further solemnly affirm that:-
If I cannot treat a disease, I shall not say that AIDS, cancers, diabetes has no cure.
But will tell the patient to try other systems of medicine.
I shall treat health practitioners of other systems with respect and not tell deliberate lies
to prove my importance.
I shall study Holistic healing modalities to increase my knowledge and wisdom.
I shall not even by mistake say that "HIV=AIDS=death" or cancers cannot be treated.
I shall not frighten my patients with unnecessary comments, opinions or advice.
I still remember what Hippocrates said, namely, "Let diet be your medicine" and shall accordingly prescribe fresh fruits, vegetables and good diet to my patients, rather than tonics, syrups, synthetic multi-vitamins, specially to children.
I shall not perform surgery, unless it is absolutely must and will not indulge in rackets like amniocentesis, caesarian section, silicon implant or liposuction.
I shall work to ban the useless and cruel animal experiments in the name of medicine.
I shall participate in periodic workshops, seminars, and conferences at my expense or on scholarship (no pharma funding) to educate myself and speak from my conscience if I am called upon to speak or preside.


Finally, I shall not consume alcohol, smoke tobacco, or take other narcotic and psychotropic substances. As far as possible, I shall also not take animal proteins.


I realize and aver that a great responsibility of people's well-being is upon my shoulders and I shall carry on my onerous task with utmost dedication.


This I swear in the name of God on this solemn Doctors Day and I shall repeat this oath daily lest I forget that I am in a divine profession to heal the world.

Modern Version

A widely used modern version of the traditional oath was penned in 1964 by Dr. Louis Lasagna, former Principal of the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences and Academic Dean of the School of Medicine at Tufts University:[8]
“ I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.

I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given to me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

Опять я виноват.. привёл неудобную статистику? Вот какой я плохой..

P.S. С моими родителями всё более чем в порядке - живут в отдельной квартире в основном конечно благодаря самим себя, хотя и я скажем на 20% помог и помогаю им в обеспечении приятной старости. И я тоже к старости постараюсь принять меры, чтобы не быть обузой моим детям, да и воспитать их так, чтобы меня не выкинули как это часто происходит, если всё таки стану обузой..
