А бабла у них немерянно. Зарплата в поллимона и выше - не редкость.

Неве ноу. В каледжах обычно бенефиты лучше, отпуска больше, пенсии больше, и работы никакой. Надо всё взвесить перед тем как рубить с плеча.

Можно. Я работал на Фарму несколько лет.
Лоеры и доктора сосут по сравнению с комиссионными и зарплатами в Фарме.

Dear vera-

It was nice talking to you on the phone about our available research
technician position at Tufts.

We have a small group with 2 PIs (myself and Dr. Andrew Greenberg), an
instructor-level Investigator (Dr. Katherine Strissel), a post-doc (Dr.

James Perfield) and three graduate students (Jason, and two Nicoles).
We
will be adding two technicians within the next month and 2-3 post-docs
later this Fall. We also have a full-time staff assistant. The lab is

very informal and fluid.

Because we are a small group, lab 'chemistry' is critical to our
success
(or failure). We avoid prima donnas no matter how talented. The best
fit for us has traditionally been someone who is naturally curious,
takes great satisfaction in solving complex puzzles, and has a sense of

humor. Then we are all on the same page.

Most of our work utilizes mouse models of obesity or
genetically-altered
adipocyte or macrophage function. Assays are performed at the whole
animal level (insulin and glucose tolerance tests, metabolic chambers,
etc), or in vitro using explanted adipocytes, adipose tissue or
adenovirally-transduced MEFs from knockout mice. I have attached two
recent papers from our group.

Key responsibilities of the position include 1) 30% biochemical and
cell
biological analysis of adipose tissue cells, including but not limited
to purification of adipocytes from mouse tissue, SDS-PAGE,
immunoprecipitation, real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, ELISA; 2) 25%

organization of mouse colonies (includes breeding, genotyping and
record
keeping, but not daily feeding / maintenance); 3) 15% non-invasive
physiological and metabolic testing of mice for assessment of
obesity-related disorders. These responsibilities include data
collection and data presentation at lab meetings (familiarity with
statistics a big plus); 4) 15% general lab maintenance, ordering, etc.
5) 10% training new personnel in areas of expertise as necessary; 6) 5%

assisting with preparation of scientific publications and grants.
