A reporter tells him the Kremlin praised his new foreign policy. Trump shrugs:

“Putin would like to see a weak Europe… and he’s getting that.”

Pressed on how “Trump’s strategy” MATCHES Moscow’s goals, he melts:

“I have no vision for Europe.”

No vision. No strategy. Just giving Putin everything he asked for.

Trump isn’t leading the free world. He’s sleep walking right into Putin’s hands.

Russians have published footage of the moment their missile struck the Pechenizh Dam in Kharkiv reg. Massive explosion, huge plume of smoke. Critical infrastructure hit again. Proof of yet another warcrime.

Historian here. Donbas was never a territory of Russia. Until 18 century, it was used (but not inhabited) by predominantly Turkic nomadic tribes (but also Greeks); it was called a "Wild Field" because there were almost no permanent settlements there due to constant infighting between those tribes and Ukrainian Cossacks.

Then, after the threat was eliminated, Ukrainians started to create basically the first settlements in centuries in this "Ukrainian Wild East" repopulating this wasteland.

The process was later fueled by investments of British and French industrial magnates (which is why one of the original names of Donet'sk is Yuzivka - it was developed by the Welsh businessman John Hughes, but the city itself was founded by Ukrainian Cossacks as Oleksandrivka). Thus, the Donbas population census of the 1920s has clear numbers - 64% identified themselves as Ukrainians and only 26% as Russians.

But because of Holodomor, which specifically targeted Ukrainians and migration (often forced by the Soviet Union), the number of Ukrainians in 1939 fell to 61% while Russians grew to 36%
But they never were a majority, not even once for the last 10 centuries.

So Kremlin is using ignorance and laziness to make you believe in the lies they are spreading to prove their territorial claims. And extremely diverse and sometimes complicated history of Ukrainian Donbas is not something that is often studied in universities outside Ukraine.|
