During the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry, Alireza Enayati, assistant to the Iranian foreign minister and Director General of the Persian Gulf Department at the ministry, called in the Russian ambassador to hand over the Islamic Republic of Iran’s objections to the contents of a joint statement between Russia and the Council that was issued after the sixth ministerial meeting of strategic dialogue between the two sides.

Enayati told Dedov that the thee islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb, and the Lesser Tunb belonged to Iran for eternity, and demanded that the Russian Federation rectify its stance on the matter.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has begun drills simulating the defense of an island in the Persian Gulf that the United Arab Emirates lays claims to.

IRGC naval forces started the drill around the Abu Musa Island early on Wednesday.
Combat, vessel, missile, drone, aerial-forest, electronic warfare, and rapid forces units were among the forces taking part in the drills.

Shahid Hojaji Special Unit vessels, which are mounted with missiles that can hit a target as far as 600 kilometers away, were unveiled and operated during the drills for the first time on Wednesday.

The Shahid Hojaji Special Unit vessels are designated in particular to protect the three Iranian islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb, and the Lesser Tunb in the Persian Gulf.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has stressed the need for Iran and Syria to implement the agreements they signed during his recent visit to Damascus.

Raisi was speaking during a meeting with three visiting Syrian ministers in Tehran including the Arab country’s foreign minister on Tuesday.

Raisi hailed Syria’s resistance against the all-out foreign-backed war on the country that started on 2011, saying the message that his meeting with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad had was the big victory of the resistance front.

Raisi voiced hope that in addition to the implementation of the agreements signed during his stay in Damascus, the two countries took further steps toward expanding their relations in all areas.

Meanwhile, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said the initiative of President Assad to send three ministers at once to Tehran was a sign of the deep strategic ties between Iran and Syria.

Mekdad described talks aimed at implementing the Iran-Syria agreements as smooth and very positive.

While presenting a detailed report on the latest developments in Syria, the Syrian foreign minister described the path of the united resistance by Iran and Syria as a shining manifestation of the commonalities between the two countries.

Mekdad said the axis of resistance led by the Islamic Republic of Iran showed that it can thwart any conspiracy against the region.

He also hailed all martyrs of the resistance, especially General Qassem Soleimani.

The director of Iran’s atomic energy organization, while praising the country’s nuclear achievements for peaceful purposes, says the country is adamant in taking bolder steps to facilitate the use of advancements in various spheres of daily life.

Addressing an event on Monday to mark the National Nuclear Technology Day, the director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, said Iran is among the top three countries in the world in terms of the development of radiopharmaceuticals.

Eslami said the AEOI is seeking to fulfill the objectives of a strategic document that was ratified two years ago regarding nuclear prigram, noting the organization took giant leaps last year to consolidate the infrastructure of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.

Facilitating treatment of cancer patients through nuclear technology is among the other areas the AEOI has focused on and has made progress in, Eslami added.

He also noted that irradiation systems will be installed in 12 centers across the country to prevent 130 tons of agriculture products from rotting.

Eslami also said plans are underway to open 50 clinics in the country for the treatment of wounds by implementing plasma technology.

Meanwhile, the second and third nuclear power plants in Bushehr and other plants on the Makran coast along the coast of the Gulf of Oman are among the megaprojects that are under construction, the atomic chief said.

Iran is on the list of the few countries that have acquired the indigenous knowledge and technology of separating isotopes at home by its scientists, the deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said.

In an interview with Fars news agency, Ali Noroozi touched on the AEOI’s achievements during the past Iranian year, which finished on March 20.

He said, “In the past year, the Department of Advanced Technologies introduced two products, the first one is related to the separation of tellurium isotopes, and the other one is the manufacture of spectrophotometer equipment, which is used in nuclear fusion.”

Noroozi explained that spectrophotometer is a highly accurate advanced diagnostic tool in nuclear fusion, and since the device is indigenously built, it puts Iran among the few countries in the world that possess the technology.

The atomic agency organization’s deputy head said Iran is planning to expand its peaceful nuclear programs in the Persian New Year, adding “We expect to gain a deserved status in the field of nuclear fusion in the next few years.”

Noroozi further noted that Iran is planning to unveil the stable isotope separation chain of iridium in the New Year, which he said is an important matter and a big step forward in radiography and diagnostic issues that have been hit hard by US-led Western sanctions.

Locals and eye witnesses have reported that the Iranian cities of Tabriz and Isfahan are ‘completely calm’ after several explosions were heard earlier on Friday.

A senior army commander in Isfahan said the sound heard in Isfahan was due to the activation of air defenses in the central city.

General Siavash Mihandoost said air defenses in Isfahan targeted ‘suspicious objects,’ adding no damage was caused.

Informed sources said Iran’s air defenses shot down three quadcopters over Isfahan, asserting that the nuclear facilities in the city are safe.

Meanwhile, the airports across Iran have resumed their normal schedule after flights were temporarily suspended as a security precaution.

The developments come as speculations are rife that Israel might launch an attack on Iran following a retaliatory operation by the Iranian Armed Forces on Sunday on occupied territories. The attack was provoked by an Israeli strike on the Iranian consular affairs building in Damascus earlier this month that killed seven Iranian military advisors.

European Union sanction announced following Iran's missile and drone attack against Israel is "unfortunate and illegal" because Tehran was acting in self-defence, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said.

Amirabdollahian censured the EU over tightening sanctions on Iran in reprisal for the recent aerial strikes against the Zionist regime.

“It is unfortunate that the European Union is quick to decide on further illegal restrictions against Iran just because Iran has exercised its right to defend itself against the brazen aggression of the Israeli regime,” the minister wrote on X on Tuesday.

“The EU should not follow Washington’s advice to appease the criminal Israeli regime.”

Amirabdollahian also slammed the EU’s reaction in the face of the regime’s military onslaught against the besieged Gaza Strip.

“While the Israeli regime continues to commit genocide against Palestinians by engaging in combined war crimes, rocket attacks, and famine, the EU’s response to it is little more than empty words,” he added.

The foreign minister advised the bloc to impose sanctions on the Israeli regime.

The EU’s decision came after Tehran targeted the occupied territories with a barrage of drones and missiles in retaliation for Israel’s assassination of several Iranian military advisors in Syria.

ApA group of researchers from the Tehran-based Sharif University of Technology have designed pollinating module that can be installed on all types of Iranian and foreign drones for use in gardens in a completely smart manner.

Amin Talaeezadeh, CEO of Sharif Agricultural Robotics Company (Sharif Agrobot), said the aerial pollination module has been manufactured for the first time in the country, and it works in the form of powder spraying.

According to Talaeezadeh, the module has been tested on two drones: DJI T16 and Sharif Agrobot S20, and a key feature of the device is that it can work completely independently without connection to any wire and with its own battery and sensors.

To use it, simply remove the tank of your sprayer drone and install the pollinator module instead, he said.

Currently, the technology used to make the UAV is only owned by the United States and Iran but the Iranian company’s module is better equipped and smarter than the US one, the official added.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration has failed to relieve people of the economic burden in their daily lives despite ‘promising’ reports released by the government, an Iranian newspaper argues.

In an article on Thursday, Jomhouri-e Eslami slammed the government for creating “worrying economic situation,” and “releasing statistics that are in contrast with the people’s livelihood.”

The scathing article comes just days after Iranian minister of economy told a press conference that Iran’s economic growth last year was higher than the previous years.

Ehsan Khandouzi also said Iran’s economy is going through a positive trend and the indicators point to a ‘serious boom’.

However, two weeks into the new the Persian New Year, Jomhouri-e Eslami painted a conflicting picture with the official report, writing, “This year, like the previous year, from the first days of Farvardin (the first month on the Iranian calendar), prices have started to increase and the value of the national currency plunged.”

The rial’s parity rates with the dollar have sharply plummeted since the past weeks and many people prefer to keep gold instead of the national currency.

“People, especially the poor and middle class, look at the economic situation with concern, but unfortunately, what is observed in practice is that the officials continue to give statistics that are in contrast with the people’s livelihood,” the daily wrote.

A leopard has been spotted in a protected area in Iran's Ardebil province.

The no hunting zone in northwestern Iran is named Darband Mashkul in the southern part of Ardabil province and on the border of Givi city.

A helicopter transporting President Ebrahim Raisi encountered an accident earlier on Sunday in the East Azerbaijan province.

According to initial reports, some of the President’s companions aboard the helicopter have managed to make contact with central authorities, raising hopes that the incident may end without any fatalities.

The President’s convoy consisted of three helicopters. While two of these, carrying various ministers and officials, successfully reached their destination, the helicopter carrying President Raisi faced difficulties.

Among those reported to be with President Raisi was Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. Rescue operations are currently underway, and further details on the condition of the passengers are awaited.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Alireza Beigi, representative of Tabriz, said: “I do not know the details of the incident. The Red Crescent, who were going to the area, informed me that this had happened and that we were looking for the downed helicopter.”

Iranian President Ebhrahim Raisi, his entourage and the crew on board the helicopter that crashed on Sunday in northwestern Iran have died, according to initial reports.

Rescue teams found the wreckage of the helicopter after over 15 hours of search for the crash site in the adverse weather conditions in East Azarbaijan Province.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Tabriz Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, Governor of East Azarbaijan Province Malek Rahmati, top IRGC commander General Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi were accompanying President Raisi in the fateful flight.

After the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a tragic helicopter accident, questions arise on who will be in charge of running the state of affairs in Iran.

The Iranian Constitution clearly states that, “In case of death, dismissal, resignation, absence, or illness lasting longer than two months of the president or when his term in office has ended and a new president has not been elected due to some impediments, or similar other circumstances, his first deputy shall assume, with the approval of the Leader, the powers and functions of the President.”

Therefore, Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will step up to be at the helm as acting president after Raisi’s death.

The Constitution also stipulates that a council, consisting of the speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, or parliament, Mohammad Baqre Qalibaf, head of the Judiciary Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, and the first deputy of the president Mokhber, is obliged to arrange for a new president to be elected within a maximum period of fifty days.

“In case of death of the first deputy to the president, or other matters which prevent him to perform his duties or when the President does not have a first deputy, the Leader shall appoint another person in his place,” the Constitution further notes.

In its Thursday edition, the daily wrote, “These days, people are fed up with the extreme rise of prices that breaks their back, and it has also made economists and parliamentarians cry over the issue.”

Jomhouri-e Eslami also continues, “But unfortunately, the executive officials and government managers, who should be promoted by the warnings, have turned into great and passive spectators, whose words only add insult to injury.”

The daily argues that the economic disorder in the country has prepared the grounds for the formation of wide embezzlement networks and has created corruption in the structural process of the country, citing the recent mega-scale $3.5bn Debsh tea corruption case.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi, calling it “a great loss”. He stated Tehran and Moscow will continue down the path of the late Iranian president to further boost ties and mutual cooperation.

Putin made the remark during a meeting with chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, in Moscow on Tuesday.

“President Raisi’s death is a great loss, first and foremost for Iran and its people. He was a very reliable partner, a direct, self-confident man, who was motivated by national interests,” Putin said.

He also described the late Iranian president as “a man of his word”, adding that “if we agreed on something with him, we could always be sure that those agreements would be fulfilled”.

Putin further noted that Russia is ready to continue cooperation with Iran just like under Raisi’s administration, pledging to do his best to ensure the continuation and development of Russian-Iranian relations in the same manner.

Putin announced Russia’s readiness to help Iran investigate the causes of the copter crash that killed President Raisi and his accompanying delegation.

The Russian president further asked Volodin, who will travel to Tehran to attend the president’s funeral ceremony on Wednesday, to convey his heartfelt condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

In an earlier message of condolence, Putin had called Raisi a true friend who made serious efforts to develop the level of strategic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.

Raisi was martyred alongside his accompanying delegation, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, after their helicopter crashed in the Dizmar forest in East Azarbaijan Province on Sunday.

Rescuers found the wreckage of the helicopter early on Monday after hours of extensive search which involved more than 70 teams.

President Raisi was returning from a location on the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he inaugurated a dam with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev.

Following the tragic loss, world leaders sent condolence messages to the people of Iran.

Many countries, the neighboring states in particular, are observing days of mourning to honor the late president and those accompanying him.

In Iran, millions of mourners are gathering to honor the martyrs in towns and cities nationwide.

President Raisi will be buried in his birthplace, the holy city of Mashhad, on Thursday.

After months of bickering with the Taliban administration in Afghanistan, Iran has received over 300 million cubic meters of its share of water from the Hirmand River, the Iranian special envoy to the eastern neighboring country says.

Hassan Kazemi Qomi said on Friday that after extensive talks, the Taliban took a three-pronged initiative, one of which wasted the water by leading it to Gozareh depression, but the other two took off the ground and supplied Iran with water.

He clarified that as a result of repairing the valves of the Kamal Khan Dam and dredging the water transfer route to Sistan and Baluchestan, over 300 million cubic meters of Iran’s share of water was supplied.

The Taliban had been refusing to allow Iran’s share of water from Hirmand, known as Helmand in Afghanistan, to stream into Iran, blaming drought and technical issues for the low supply of water.

Tehran says Afghanistan must adhere to the terms of the internationally-binding 1973 Hirmand river water treaty under which Iran should receive 820 million cubic meters of water annually.

Interim Iranian President Mohammad Mokhber has assured Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that Tehran will continue its full support for the resistance axis, particularly Syria.

Mokhber made the remarks in a phone conversation with Assad on Thursday as the latter offered his condolences to the Iranian government and nation over the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and their companions in a helicopter crash in the northeastern province of East Azarbaijan on Sunday.

Mokhber thanked Syria’s move to declare three days of mourning and the presence of the country’s prime minister and his accompanying delegation in Tehran to take part in the funeral processions held for the Iranian martyrs.

“Syria is a strategic partner and a constant friend of the Iranian nation,” he added.

He noted that Assad’s message and the presence of the Syrian delegation in Tehran were a consolation for the Iranian people.

Iran lost Raisi and Amirabdollahian as two influential figures, which was a great loss for all Iranians, he stated.

The interim president emphasized that all institutions and bodies are fulfilling their duties like before, which is indicative of Iran’s strong power and prudent leadership of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

On Sunday, the helicopter carrying Raisi and his entourage crashed as it was on its way to Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, from a location on the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan where the Iranian president had opened a major dam project.

Amirabdollahian and two senior provincial officials along with crew members and bodyguard also died in the crash.

The Syrian president, for his part, said he was eager to express his condolences to Ayatollah Khamenei in person and added that he will travel to Tehran as soon as possible.

Assad emphasized that just like the late commander of the Quds Force of the IRGC Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the late Iranian president was an influential figure in the region and the world, whose memory will remain etched in the minds of the Syrian nation and government.

Raisi always fought against oppression and global unilateralism and supported the resistance front, the oppressed nations in the region and across the world as well as the Palestinian cause, he added.

Assad expressed Syria’s full solidarity with Iran in all circumstances and said he is confident that the Islamic Republic is able to overcome this painful incident.

Iran’s Ham-Mihan newspaper says the country has experienced its highest inflation in 80 years during the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi’s tenure.

In a report, Ham Mihan said exactly a year ago, namely in May 2023, Raisi instructed government officials in 10 paragraphs to curb inflation and increase production.

According to the report, the inflation rates Iran has experienced during Raisi’s tenure has been the highest since 1943.

Previously, the administration of former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani held the record of highest inflation with a 49.4% rate.

The high inflation of the years 1942 and 1943 in Iran was blamed on World War Two and the occupation of Iran by the allied forces.

The figures about the inflation are published by the Central Bank of Iran.

Raisi has been repeatedly criticized by citizens, media and former officials for its handling of the economy.

His critics say Raisi mistakenly thinks economic problems can be resolved through issuing orders, which is not the case.

But the Raisi administration says it has managed to contain the rising inflation and the downward spiral of the rial against foreign currencies.

An Iranian knowledge-based company's scientists have manufactured jet engine blades for Boeing MD aircraft and installed them on these planes, reviving more than 28 of these aircraft that had been grounded due to US sanctions.

As a result, the number of operational Boeing MD aircraft in Iran has increased to 40.

Mani Rezvani, a manager at the knowledge-based Iranian Company, specializing in the manufacture of engines and aviation equipment, told Tasnim News Agency that the very high price of these complex and sensitive aircraft engine parts had posed significant challenges for Iranian airlines in procuring them.

Rezvani added the Boeing MD aircraft is the backbone of Iran’s air transport fleet, which had become inoperative due to US sanctions. However, the MAPNA Aviation Center, through reverse engineering, has started manufacturing the engine blades for these planes.

He added these blades are currently undergoing the necessary tests to obtain certification from the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, after which mass production of this product will commence.

The manager of this knowledge-based Iranian company stated in the current Iranian month of Khordad (June), the first passenger aircraft engine of the Boeing MD (JT8D 219 engine) will be started using blades manufactured in Iran.

Rezvani said the cost of producing these aircraft engine parts domestically in Iran will be between 7,000 to 8,000 dollars, whereas the price of the foreign-made parts is 22,000 dollars.
