LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- A tsunami advisory has issued for the Southern California coast south of Point Conception, including San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties, according to the National Weather Service.
A tsunami advisory means a tsunami capable of producing strong currents or waves that could be hazardous to swimmers and boats, the NWS said.
Waves could top 7 feet at Port San Luis Harbor in Central California, but waves less than 2 feet are expected in Santa Barbara, Malibu and San Pedro, according to the NWS.
Major damage and flooding is not expected, and no evacuations have been ordered for coastal areas.
The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Center released estimated arrival times for unusually large waves:
