Judge pleads guilty to drug possession

ATLANTA, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A senior federal judge pleaded guilty to possessing controlled substances and conversion of government property, the U.S. Justice Department said Friday.
U.S. District Judge Jack T. Camp Jr. pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Atlanta to two counts of possession of controlled substances and one count of conversion of government property, several Justice Department officials said in a release.
Camp admitted that between May and Oct. 1, 2010, he had and used cocaine, marijuana and Roxycodone, a controlled substance, officials said. He also admitted to giving money to a convicted drug felon to buy drugs and to giving the person a court-owned laptop computer.
Camp was arrested Oct. 1, 2010, after he tried to buy drugs from an undercover FBI agent posing as a drug dealer.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 4.
