My son will turn 18 on November 2nd, 2007. Can I file N-600 for him now since he is not 18 yet? May/will USCIS turn down his petition if they look into his file after he turns 18? It is said that processing time for N-600 is 3 months, that is December 11th. , 2007. Has anyone run into a situation like that? Thank you in advance for any input and suggestion

Sorry for ignorance as well as English. I did read the instruction and confused. The instruction does say to submit the Certificate of Naturalization of your parent(s), your foreign birth certificate, and proof of your admission to the US for permanent residence. Does it mean that he will receive American passport while been a permanent resident? If it is the case, what his status would be if he has to identify it somewhere down the road: Citizen or Permanent Resident? Will he need to apply for a naturalization certificate some time in the future after he turns 18? I am sorry again for being dumb but I am really confused.
