Persian leopard spotted in Iran’s Ardebil province

A leopard has been spotted in a protected area in Iran's Ardebil province.

The no hunting zone in northwestern Iran is named Darband Mashkul in the southern part of Ardabil province and on the border of Givi city.

The area has been protected due to the presence of various animal species.

The film of the leopard was apparently shot by an environmental guard.

Environmental protection authorities say the leopard is among endangered species whose protection is now more important than ever.

Iranian wildlife protection authorities believe that 500 to 800 Persian leopards are scattered in Iran including in the provinces of Mazandaran, Gilan, Golestan, Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, Semnan, Yazd, Sistan-Baluchestan and Fars.

Helicopter carrying pres. Raisi involved in accident

A helicopter transporting President Ebrahim Raisi encountered an accident earlier on Sunday in the East Azerbaijan province.

According to initial reports, some of the President’s companions aboard the helicopter have managed to make contact with central authorities, raising hopes that the incident may end without any fatalities.

The President’s convoy consisted of three helicopters. While two of these, carrying various ministers and officials, successfully reached their destination, the helicopter carrying President Raisi faced difficulties.

Among those reported to be with President Raisi was Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. Rescue operations are currently underway, and further details on the condition of the passengers are awaited.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Alireza Beigi, representative of Tabriz, said: “I do not know the details of the incident. The Red Crescent, who were going to the area, informed me that this had happened and that we were looking for the downed helicopter.”

He went on to say: “I cannot say exactly that an accident happened to the helicopter carrying the head of the 13th Administration.”

Additionally, another representative of East Azerbaijan province, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “It seems that an accident happened to President Raisi’s helicopter, but I don’t have accurate information.”

Reports: Iranian president, delegation on board crashed helicopter all dead

Iranian President Ebhrahim Raisi, his entourage and the crew on board the helicopter that crashed on Sunday in northwestern Iran have died, according to initial reports.

Rescue teams found the wreckage of the helicopter after over 15 hours of search for the crash site in the adverse weather conditions in East Azarbaijan Province.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Tabriz Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, Governor of East Azarbaijan Province Malek Rahmati, top IRGC commander General Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi were accompanying President Raisi in the fateful flight.

According to initial reports and video images, the bodies were charred beyond recognition.

President Raisi was returning from the inauguration ceremony of a dam on Aras River when the accident happened.

After the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a tragic helicopter accident, questions arise on who will be in charge of running the state of affairs in Iran.

The Iranian Constitution clearly states that, “In case of death, dismissal, resignation, absence, or illness lasting longer than two months of the president or when his term in office has ended and a new president has not been elected due to some impediments, or similar other circumstances, his first deputy shall assume, with the approval of the Leader, the powers and functions of the President.”

Therefore, Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will step up to be at the helm as acting president after Raisi’s death.

The Constitution also stipulates that a council, consisting of the speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, or parliament, Mohammad Baqre Qalibaf, head of the Judiciary Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, and the first deputy of the president Mokhber, is obliged to arrange for a new president to be elected within a maximum period of fifty days.

“In case of death of the first deputy to the president, or other matters which prevent him to perform his duties or when the President does not have a first deputy, the Leader shall appoint another person in his place,” the Constitution further notes.

Iranian daily: Hyperinflation breaking people’s back, gov’t just keeps watching

Iran’s Jomhouri-e Eslami newspaper has blasted the Iranian government for what it called just standing idly by and watching while the cumbersome extreme inflation is affecting people’s livelihood.

In its Thursday edition, the daily wrote, “These days, people are fed up with the extreme rise of prices that breaks their back, and it has also made economists and parliamentarians cry over the issue.”

Jomhouri-e Eslami also continues, “But unfortunately, the executive officials and government managers, who should be promoted by the warnings, have turned into great and passive spectators, whose words only add insult to injury.”

The daily argues that the economic disorder in the country has prepared the grounds for the formation of wide embezzlement networks and has created corruption in the structural process of the country, citing the recent mega-scale $3.5bn Debsh tea corruption case.

“People are asking how this large amount of financial corruption happened that the government did not notice and now that it has been exposed, according to the head of the judiciary, 45 people are involved in the case, including the minister, deputy minister and high-ranking directors of the executive officials,” the daily added.

The scathing article comes a day after the Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi told a cabinet meeting that “the government’s approach is to be the first to deal with corruption at any level.”

правда там и так второй тур каких-то выборов намечался. А Роухани жаловался , что его кандидатуру не хотят регистрировать.
