Texas Charges Social Worker With 134 Felony Counts Involving Election Fraud

Texas state officials announced late on Friday afternoon that they have charged a social worker with 134 felony counts of election fraud and other related charges.

“Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that his Election Fraud Unit assisted the Limestone County Sheriff and District Attorney in charging Kelly Reagan Brunner, a social worker in the Mexia State Supported Living Center (SSLC), with 134 felony counts of purportedly acting as an agent and of election fraud,” the state said in a statement. “State Supported Living Centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Brunner submitted voter registration applications for 67 residents without their signature or effective consent, while purporting to act as their agent.”

“Under Texas law, only a parent, spouse or child who is a qualified voter of the county may act as an agent in registering a person to vote, after being appointed to do so by that person,” the statement continued. “None of the SSLC patients gave effective consent to be registered, and a number of them have been declared totally mentally incapacitated by a court, thereby making them ineligible to vote in Texas.”

The statement added that if she is convicted, Brunner faces up to 10 years in prison for these offenses.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton praised the law enforcement officials who were involved in the investigation:

I strongly commend the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, and Elections Office, as well as the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General for their outstanding work on this case and their commitment to ensuring a free and fair Presidential election in the face of unprecedented voter fraud. Registering citizens to vote or to obtain mail ballots without their consent is illegal. It is particularly offensive when individuals purport to be champions for disability rights, when in reality they are abusing our most vulnerable citizens in order to gain access to their ballots and amplify their own political voice. My office is prepared to assist any Texas county in combating this insidious form of fraud.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said in a statement: “Election fraud is real. In Texas, we investigate and prosecute it. Today a Limestone County social worker was charged with 134 felony counts involving election fraud. All states must take election fraud seriously to ensure confidence in elections.”

In September, Paxton announced that law enforcement officials had arrested several individuals for their alleged involvement in an illegal ballot harvesting scheme in Texas’ 2018 Democrat primary.

“The four individuals—Charlie Burns, Dewayne Ward, Marlena Jackson and Jackson’s husband Shannon Brown, a Democrat who was serving as Gregg County’s Precinct 4 commissioner—collectively stand accused of 134 different felony charges of election fraud and ballot tampering,” Newsweek reported. “If found guilty, each individual could face six months in jail to 99 years in prison.”

Nevada Whistleblower Says He Was Told To Process Ballots Without Signature Verification

Nevada’s Republican Party says a whistleblower is claiming that elections officials willingly violated the rules for handling mail-in ballots.

“A whistleblower has come forward in Clark County saying they witnessed mail ballots being counted without signatures being verified,” the Nevada Republican Party wrote in a Twitter post Saturday.

The party included a Fox News clip from Saturday that reported that the whistleblower has completed a sworn affidavit that is being forwarded to the Department of Justice for potential prosecution.
According to the clip, the employee alleges he was told to overlook cases in which addresses did not match.

The report quoted a lawyer affiliated with the Trump campaign as saying, “The affidavit makes clear that we’re not dealing with oversights or sloppiness, this was intentional criminal conduct.”

Nevada is among the states that have been a battleground ever since the polls closed.

Despite the news media on Saturday declaring that Democrat Joe Biden has won, President Donald Trump’s campaign has been challenging mail-in ballots that it claims distorted vote totals.
Nevada Republicans said misconduct has been widespread in the state.

“The Nevada Republican Party has received thousands of complaints regarding issues that arose with the General Election in Nevada,” Nevada’s Republican Party said in a statement on its website.

“As the results of the election are still being tallied, we are investigating each and every voter complaint and are working diligently to ensure each voter had the opportunity to cast a ballot legally,” the party said last week.

The party noted that Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, is the epicenter of irregular conduct.

“There have been a number of mail ballots turned in to Clark County Department of Elections that are being processed without meaningful observation. Ballots are continuing to be processed in this same manner,” the party said.

Nevada’s Trump campaign co-chair Adam Laxalt said the lack of transparency is frightening.

“The fact remains that hundreds of thousands of ballots have been counted in Clark County and as a Judge and the Secretary of State have confirmed we have not been allowed to observe or challenge a single signature match for these votes,” he said in the statement.
On Thursday, Nevada Republicans said they have discovered more than 3,000 instances of voter fraud in the state and are demanding an investigation from the Department of Justice.

The state’s Republican Party on Thursday said that it had asked Attorney General William Barr to investigate what a letter to Barr called “criminal voter fraud” in the state.

“Voter fraud is a serious federal felony, one that cuts to the heart of representative democracy” the letter said. “We understand that these are serious allegations and we do not make them lightly.”
