Most expensive home in US – dubbed ‘billionaires’ bunker’ – purchased for $238 million

A hedgefunder has just bought the most expensive home in US history — a $238 million four-story condo on Central Park South in a building dubbed the billionaires’ bunker.”

Ken Griffin is a globe-trotting house collector who also owns a $58.75 million condo in Chicago; a $60 million penthouse at Faena House in Miami; $250 million worth of land to build a Palm Beach compound and a $122 million London mansion.

The record purchase was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Developer Steven Roth is assembling tenants as if the building is his own private clubhouse, sources say.

Starchitect Robert A.M. Stern once told The Post that Roth was personally involved in every aspect of the building’s design.

Like a private club, the limestone-clad building features private dining rooms along with a sports club, juice bar, library and a basketball court.

While most buyers are still under wraps, Griffin’s new neighbors — once the building is in move-in condition— will include Sting and Trudie Styler, as The Post previously reported.

Griffin’s unit is a massive 24,000 square feet and takes up four floors — from the 50th to the 53rd floor of the building.

A 12-year-old boy has been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of a 24-year-old professional boxer in Uvalde, Texas, police say.

Boxer John VanMeter was shot and killed in his home Wednesday night.

Uvalde police say VanMeter's girlfriend called 911 around 8 p.m. to report an armed robber shot her boyfriend.

When police arrived to the house, they found VanMeter lying in the living room with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 12-year-old is being held at a juvenile detention center on capital murder charges

A 22-year-old woman says she was asked to leave her gym in Konstanz, Germany, because her clothes were too “revealing” and were “confusing the men.” Marny tweeted a photo of the “revealing” outfit showing that she was wearing a crop top that showed a few inches of skin.

“I felt like I had been thrown back into the 1800s,” she told the Evening Standard.

She explained that a female gym employee came up to her while she was on the treadmill and told her she “she couldn’t train like this.” Not knowing what she was referring to, Marny said she just looked at the woman in confusion. The woman then told her it was against gym policy for women to work out in only a sports bra and for men to work out in tank tops, adding that her top was “distracting” other gym-goers.

“I was shocked, because it wasn’t a sports bra. And even if it was, why not?” she told the Evening Standard.


People online were outraged by her story, encouraging her to “name and shame” the gym.

“What are the men confused about?? Have they never seen a woman before?!” one woman commented.

“That’s too revealing? Do you live in mormon country or something? The only way that is too revealing is by the standards of 100 years ago,” another person wrote.

Marny, however, tweeted that she didn’t want to call out the gym by name because it’s a small, local business.

“My one goal was for people to actually see that these things still happen today and that it’s important to pay attention to that,” she wrote.

She does plan to cancel her membership, though.

Конечно, самый ржачный камент про мормонов. Возможно, из-за высера против мормонов Йаху и счел достойной эту новость. Впрочем, искушенный читатель сразу поймет какие средневековые фанатики здесь засветились.

это очень странно для Германии.
они в банях требуют купаться строго обнаженными, причем в совместных.
на меня какой-то с рожей фашиста во Франкфурте наехал за плавки, на что я ему ответил: "allow me a few minutes for adjustment - in my country it would be charges for indecent exposure".

думаю, владелец конкретного джима - просто чмо.

я там оказался в 2016 году во время транзита через город: было часов 12 в городе, и сам по себе Франкфурт так себе.
но банька отменная.

они этого не изменят в бане: это важный элемент австрийских и немецких бань.

судя по канадскому опыту, бармалеи начинают с малого -замазать окна в джиме краской, смириться с воплями из матюгальника на мечети в 5 утра и т.д. Дойдут и до нечестивой кафирской бани.
