Thread: LSAT. Any suggestions to get a higher score?

  1. #1

Default LSAT. Any suggestions to get a higher score?

I will be taking the test in June'05. Any tips or resources that proved to work besides practicing like crazy and learn from your wrong answers? My first score wasn't high enough about 4 years ago. Though the GRE was much much better.

You have to take a course. Don't save money on it. Law schools base their admissions almost entirely on the LSAT score.

I took a course that required attendance - I think it was Kaplan. It helped, especially the timed practice tests in the test-like environment. I did not ace it though. If you are not a native English speaker, standardized tests are hard. Don't sweat it and concentrate on your GPA instead. Good Luck!

Manyunya, I disagree. Surprisingly, law schools give little weight to GPA and enormous weight to the LSAT. Moreover, I don't think that it is impossible to ace LSAT unless you are a native speaker. I aced both the LSAT and the bar(s).

As far as I know, GPA and LSAT are given equal weight. I had a very high GPA and a low LSAT - and got into a Top 30 law school. And I am not sure about other bars - but California bar is not all standardized. Since I never knew my score, I cannot really say I aced it by passing it.

You do know your multistate score, though, don't you?

Nope. And I think I'm better off NOT knowing.

You mean CA won't allow you to waive into another jurix?

I'm sure it does. I just never had to do it.

Well, if you wanted to waive, you'd need to know your score, right? CA doesn't tell you the score, or you just didn't want to look at the paper?
