The Program Designation Branch in the Bureau of Education, Cultural Exchanges and Academic Programs (ECA) handles J1 visa extension, category changes, and program transfers. А что, бывает так, что кто-то не имеет права получать образование в сша?

Кстати, там еще о визах спрашивают. "Есть ли у вас в данный момент US виза?"

Такое ощущение, что они репортят куда-то каждого подающего документы..

Whether the student has enrolled in the school, dropped below a full course of study without prior authorization by the Designated School Official ("DSO"), or failed to enroll;

The current address of each enrolled student; and

The start date of the student's next session, term, semester, trimester, or quarter.

In addition, within 21 days of a change of any information, schools will be required to report the following information:

Any student who has failed to maintain status or complete his or her program;

A change of the student's or dependent's legal name or U.S. address;

Any student who has graduated early or prior to the program end date;

Any disciplinary action taken by the school against the student as a result of the student being convicted of a crime; and

Any other notification request may be SEVIS with respect to the current status of the student.

но ведь энролмент, это ведь физическое начало обучения, а не эппликэйшн или факт того, что студента зачислили, так ведь? они ведь не должны репортить иммиграционной службе каждого, кто подал документы на поступление?

и какая им разница до того, какая у меня есть виза, если я физически нахожусь за пределами сша?

Смотря куда нужно. Если в университет, или для сертификатов - иногда бывает, что требуют, чтобы именно в учебном заведении на родине все перевели, часы сосчитали и бывает - даже сами чтобы напрямую прислали. Если работодателю, или еще в какое место, где не требуют перевода напрямую от выдавшей организации - сама можете перевести. При чем работодатели часто и не спрашивают дипломов как таковых. И в резюме они сразу увидят, что дипломы и опытработы - не американские. Кого это устроит, им сами это корочки часто пофигу.

Здравствуйте!
Получила визу В1/В2. Собираюсь ехать в Нью Йорк. Возможно в дальнейшем буду пределывать на F-1. Подруга, хоть сама не сталкивалась, но слышала, что поскольку в NY много обманов со стороны русских, то как-то не особо доверяют нашим дипломам и требуют, чтоб они были запечатаны в конвертах прямо в университетах. Мол, конверт запечатан, я туда не лазила и внутри все настоящее)))
Я пока еще в России, хотелось бы максимально облегчить процедуру. но не очень-то понимаю, что же именно мне надо просить в универе запечатать в этот конверт. сделать превод, заверить у нотариуса, прийти в универ и запечатать вместе с оригиналом? или в универе какое-то подтверждение должны написать, типа содержимое пакета подлинное и тоже с оригиналом опечатать? Подскажите, пожалуйста, кто знает!
