Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes "

Kim Carnes (born July 20, 1945 in Los Angeles, California) is an American singer and songwriter. She is noted for her distinctive, raspy voice which she attributes to many hours spent singing in smoky bars and clubs. In 1981 she recorded the Jackie DeShannon and Donna Weiss song "Bette Davis Eyes". As the first single released from the album Mistaken Identity, it spent 9 weeks at number one on the US singles charts and became a worldwide hit. The single went on to become the #1 bestseller for the year and won Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

    Demis Roussos "Forever and Ever"

Demis Roussos "From Souvenirs To Souvenirs"

Artemios (Demis) Ventouris Roussos (born June 15, 1946) is a Greek singer.
He came to a wider audience in 1968 when he joined progressive rock band Aphrodite's Child, initially as singer but later also playing bass guitar. His distinctive operatic vocal style helped propel the band to international success, notably on their final album 666, which became something of a cult classic. Roussos also began a solo career following the collapse of the band, beginning with the song 'We Shall Dance'. Initially unsuccessful, he toured southern Europe and soon became a leading vocalist. His solo career peaked in the 1970s with several hit albums. His single, Forever and Ever, topped the charts in several countries in 1973.

    Cerrone "Supernature"

    Cerrone "Supernature" (Remix)

Cerrone (full name: Jean-Marc Cerrone) is a French singer and music producer born in Paris, and one of the best representatives of the European disco. At the age of 12 he started playing drums and listening to Otis Redding's songs. His passion for music scared his father, who tried to distract him from his obsession. By the end of the 60's, he was fascinated by, among others, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Joe Dassin "Et Si Tu n'existais pas"

    Joseph Ira Dassin (November 5, 1938 - August 20, 1980) was a French-speaking American musician.
Dassin was born in New York City to Jules Dassin (Yiddish actor and film noir director) and Béatrice Launer. He began his childhood first in New York and Los Angeles, California. However after his father became a victim of the anti-communist policies of Senator Joseph McCarthy, he and his family moved from place to place across Europe.
After studying at Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, Dassin moved back to the United States to go to college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan after doing very well on his bachelor's exam. After college, he moved back again to France where, while working at a radio station, a record label convinced him to begin to record his songs.
By the early 1970s, Dassin's songs topped the charts in France and he became well known. Probably as a recognition of his parents' left leanings, Dassin's records were officially released in the USSR. He was also a talented polyglot, recording songs in German, Spanish, Italian and Greek, as well as French and English.
He died of a heart attack during a vacation to Tahiti on August 20, 1980. He is buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California.
It's rumored that the heart attack was caused by more than occasional use of drugs.

    Fugees

    Killing Me Softly

The Fugees are an American music group, popular during the mid-1990s, whose repertoire includes primarily hip hop, with elements of soul, and Caribbean music (particularly reggae). The members of the group are leader/rapper/producer Wyclef Jean, rapper/singer Lauryn Hill, and rapper Pras Michel. Both Jean and Michel are of Haitian heritage; Hill is an African American native of South Orange, New Jersey. Deriving their name from the term "refugee", the group is noted for the integration of soul and reggae into their work, and recorded two albums—one of which, The Score, was a multi-platinum and Grammy-winning success—before going their separate ways after 1997. Hill and Jean each went on to successful solo recording careers, while Michel focused mainly on soundtrack recordings and acting.

Toto Cutugno "Siamo Ancora Noi "

Toto Cutugno (born Salvatore Cutugno, July 7, 1943 in Fosdinovo, Italy) is an Italian pop singer and songwriter.
He began his musical career as a drummer, but later formed a band that performed his own songs. He also had written for popular French-American singer Joe Dassin, contributing some of his most memorable songs, including L'ete Indien, Et Si Tu N'existes Pas and Le Jardin du Luxembourg (written with Vito Pallavicini).
In 1976 Cutugno participated first time in San Remo Music Festival coming with his band Albatros in 3rd place. He then won in 1980 with the song Solo noi (Only us, in Italian), and subsequently finished second in six editions: in 1984 with the song Serenata (Serenade), in 1987 with the song Figli (Sons), in 1988 with the song Emozioni (Emotions), in 1989 with the song Le mamme (The mammas), in 1990 with Ray Charles with the song Gli amori (Loves, but entitled Good love gone bad in Ray Charles version) and in 2005 with Annalisa Minetti with the song Come noi nessuno al mondo (No one else in the world like us). In total Cutugno participated in the festival 13 times.
He won Eurovision Song Contest in 1990 with his own composition Insieme: 1992 (Together: 1992), a ballad which celebrated European political integration. Along with Gigliola Cinquetti, Italy's only other Eurovision winner from 1964, he presented the 1991 contest, which was staged in Rome as a consequence of his victory. However, when the scoring ended with a tie for first place the event descended into a degree of chaos, partly due to confusion over how the scoring system worked.

Modern Talking "You're My Heart, You're My Soul"

Modern Talking "You Can Win If You Want"

Modern Talking was a German pop music duo consisting of composer/producer/background singer Dieter Bohlen and singer Thomas Anders. It was the single most successful pop group in Germany (by sales).

First formed at the end of 1984 (Anders was 21), they unexpectedly became immensely popular with their standalone disco hit "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", which was then followed by "You Can Win If You Want" and "Cheri, Cheri Lady". They released two albums a year from 1985 to 1987 while also promoting their singles on television all over Europe. After splitting up in 1987, the duo reunited in 1998, at first only testing the waters with new versions of hit singles and again reaching the top of the charts unexpectedly. Bohlen and Anders split again in 2003 due to irreconcilable disagreements (they had never been friends in the first place). Thomas Anders started another solo career immediately, while Bohlen had by now begun devoting most of his time to new talents, especially those he discovered on the German edition of the TV show Pop Idol/American Idol.
Modern Talking was successful in Europe, Asia, South America and some African countries. In the United Kingdom they reached the top ten only once with the song "Brother Louie" (in 1986, #4 UK).

    Vacuum

    I Breathe

Vacuum is a Swedish synth pop musical group formed in 1996 by Alexander Bard and Anders Wollbeck.

The history of the group can be divided into two distinct parts: before the departure of the group's leader Alexander Bard in 1999 and after his departure, since which the singer Mattias Lindblom has become the group's new leader. The first two full albums of 1997 and 1998 were characterized by classical music influences and socially-, politically- and even astronomically-themed lyrics, which are very unusual for synth pop music; the 2004 album Your Whole Life is Leading Up to This, written by Wollbeck/Lindblom, steered away from synth pop to trance/techno and personal lyrics dealing with love and the meaning of life.
