    Spandau Ballet "True"

Spandau Ballet was a popular British band in the 1980s. Initially inspired by a mixture of funk and synthpop, the New Romantic group eventually mellowed into a mainstream pop act. As with their rivals Duran Duran they 'broke America', albeit briefly.

    Chris Isaak "Wicked Game"

Chris J. Isaak (born June 26, 1956 in Stockton, California as Christopher Joseph Isaak) is an American indie rock, pop, and rock and roll singer, songwriter, and occasional actor.

"Wicked Game" is a song that was originally released by Chris Isaak in 1989. It can be found on his Heart Shaped World album. Despite being released in 1989, it didn't become a hit until January of 1991, when it reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The "wicked game" is played by a woman who appears to have tricked the singer into loving her: "What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way / What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you". The popular music video directed by Herb Ritts featured top model Helena Christensen rolling on the beach with Isaak. A previous version of the video was commissioned for the Wild at Heart soundtrack, and was directed by David Lynch [1]

Rod Stewart "Da ya think I'm sexy?"

Rod Stewart scored another UK #1 and U.S. #1 single with "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" which was a crossover hit reaching #5 on the Billboard black charts due to its disco sound. This was the lead single from 1979's Blondes Have More Fun...or do they? which went to #1 on the Billboard album charts and sold 4 million albums. It was to be Stewart's last number one album for 25 years. "D'ya Think I'm Sexy?" is a 1978 hit song for Rod Stewart. It was officially written by Stewart and Carmine Appice, and produced by Tom Dowd.

    Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now"

The Thompson Twins was a British New Wave/Power pop band which emerged in the 1980s in the immediate aftermath of New Romanticism. Massively popular in the mid 1980s, the band scored a string of hits in their native UK, broke into the USA and Canada and enjoyed huge popularity around the globe. Total worldwide record sales are estimated at 50 million. The band was named after the two bumbling detectives in Hergé's comic strip, The Adventures of Tintin. The name was amusing since none of the band members were related, or called Thompson, and there were three of them.

Eurythmics "Here Comes The Rain Again"(remix)

Touch is the third album by New Wave duo Eurythmics, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music).
By this time, the duo had achieved international success with their hit single "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)". To follow up on this, Touch was reputedly recorded and mixed in a mere couple of weeks at Eurythmics own London studio facility, "The Church".
The music on Touch could still largely be called synth pop, however it displays a larger sound-palette that the more raw analogue synth feel of the Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) album, with a generally brighter, more poppy feel (still liberally doused in plenty of Lennox angst though).
The album featured the singles "Here Comes The Rain Again" (1983, #4 US), "Right By Your Side" and "Who's That Girl?" (1983 #17 US). In the video for the latter, Annie Lennox plays both a man and a woman, and at the end, man-Annie kisses woman-Annie. In 1984, Annie reprised this performance dressed up as Elvis Presley for the Grammy Awards, causing much consternation in the audience.

    ABBA "Eagle"

The song "Eagle" was recorded in 1977 by supergroup ABBA. It was the first track on the group's fifth album, simply titled The Album and the longest track the group ever recorded (at 5:51). It was released in only a few countries with the ever-popular "Thank You For The Music" as the B-side. "Eagle" was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad shared the lead-vocals.
