Army of Lovers was a Swedish pop music group founded in 1987. They were famous for their controversial music videos (some of which were banned by MTV) and their costumes created by Camilla Thulin. Their name alludes to a documentary (IMDb entry) about Rosa von Praunheim, which in turn alludes to the Theban Band.

Patricia Kaas (born December 5, 1966 in Forbach, France) is a French singer and actress.


Kaas is one of the most successful French-speaking singers in the world. Stylistically her music is not classical chanson, but is closer to a mixture of pop music and jazz, comparable with that of Céline Dion and Lara Fabian. Since the appearance of her debut album Mademoiselle chante… in 1988 Kaas has sold more than 15 million records worldwide. She had her greatest success in Germany and Switzerland with her third album Je te dis vous, which reached 11th and 2nd place in the countries' charts respectively. A significant ingredient of her successful formula is her impressive stage presence; Kaas is almost constantly on tour internationally. In 2002 Kaas had her film debut in And now... Ladies and Gentlemen beside Jeremy Irons.

Ringo Starr

Richard Starkey, MBE (born July 7, 1940), known by his stage name Ringo Starr, is a popular British actor, singer, and musician, best known as the drummer for The Beatles. Starr is known for his reliable, steady drumming and innovative fills. His everyman personality made him an easy fit with the other Beatles. He was the oldest member of the band, and the last one to join the now familiar Fab Four line-up.

Starr married Maureen Cox in 1965, and they had three children, Zak, Jason, and Lee. The couple divorced in 1975, and in 1981 Starr married actress Barbara Bach, most famous for her role as Major Anya Amasova (female lead and main 'Bond Girl') in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Hot Chocolate was a British band of the 1960s, and 1970s, and 1980s formed by Errol Brown (a Briton who was born in Jamaica). They were originally named 'The Hot Chocolate Band' by Mavis Smith, who worked for the Apple Corps press office. This was quickly shortened to just Hot Chocolate.

Yello

Jungle Bill



Yello is a popular Swiss band consisting of Dieter Meier and Boris Blank. They are probably best known for their single "Oh Yeah", which featured a rich mix of electronic music and manipulated vocals. The song became famous after being featured in the American movies Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Secret of My Success, and more recently Soul Plane. The song is the theme for Duffman on The Simpsons.

Yello was originally formed by Boris Blank and Carlos Peron in the late 1970s. Dieter Meier, a millionaire playboy with a very versatile career, was brought in when the two founders realised that they needed a singer. Meier and Blank joined forces in 1979 to release a single called "I.T. Splash". The LP Solid Pleasure, featuring the hit dance single "Bostich", was released the following year. It wasn't until 1983 that Yello received substantial media attention, with the release of "I Love You" and "Lost Again". Peron left the band in 1983 to start a solo career.

Yello takes great pride in its original sound, which is mainly characterised by weird samples, a heavy reliance on rhythm and Dieter Meier's dark voice. Boris Blank has taken a couple vocal turns on "Swing" (from "You've Gotta' Say Yes to Another Excess) and "Blazing Saddles" (from "Flag"), and guest vocalists have included Rush Winters (the first female diva to be featured on a Yello recording), Billy Mackenzie, and Shirley Bassey. The group is not afraid of collaboration and has shared writing credit with MacKenzie and Winters. Every track on a Yello album has been created by the band from scratch. Nearly every instrument has been sampled and engineered by Boris Blank, who over the years has built up an original sample library of over 100,000 named and categorized sounds.
