Recently my comp was bugged by spyware and ad-ware beynd beleif, which made me paranoid and prompted to start spending money for "Internet security". My first step in acheiving this noble goal of "security" was McAfee Software Virus Scan (worthless) software product, then I went on to a further spending spree and purchased their Personal Firewall Plus software (even more worthless "product"). That's when my home system realy got hit by all this malicious spyware, ad-ware and browser hijaking bugs, objects, viruses, worms and other computer-related bits from the Hell. McAfee Software, as a part of the "Technical Support" - Sales technique, promptly offered me help in a form of a paid-chat ($14.95) Bronze Level (you know, economy). This guy apologized for hassle, but told me upfront, that the I need to use Level I of support to get help in removing viruses from my system, the Gold Level ($19.95). There I was charging my VISA again! The lady at Level I (Gold!) suggested to run Lavasoft Ad-Aware (FREE!!!), and the Spy-bot anti spyware software. When I informed her that I did do those steps already numerously, but with no avail, she gave me a link to a FREE (!!!) downloads. That's how I got the Spy-Doctor. That wonderful piece of human trash, informed me that my system is full of bad stuff, named it, and announced that the only way to remove it, would be to purchase a software from them! $39.95 later, charged on my Bank of America checkcard, I had run into difficulty downloading their program...
My attempts to get to the Customer Service or Technical support led me to beleive that this is a bogus company, and I have been riped off again...
PC Tools at the Embarcadero Center 1 (no suite number, or phone listing), element5, or Digital River. Actually DRIV trades on the NASDAQ... Go firure!
But now they have my personal information, credit card number, phone number, and bunch of other sensative stuff... People at BofA told me that I will have to call again next week to report the fraud, but blocked the ATM card today and sent me the replacement card in the mail, which will take only half a month to arrive...

The stuff which hijacked my Microsoft Internet Explorer opens Internet at their bogus site, called Naupoint.com
I've noticed recently that some of my friends have the same starting page now on their systems...

I now got Firefox.
