Department Overview
Equity Derivatives covers a variety of business lines, including Arbitrage, Volatility, Exotics and Convertible Bond trading. Trading desks are currently in London, New York and Hong Kong with Sales in offices worldwide. The Equity Derivatives Technology team is responsible for:
The delivery of technology initiatives around the core Equity Derivatives trading system, to a variety of business areas; Front Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Control and Operations.
The delivery of front office trading tools .
The delivery of an Exotics system for pricing and risk valuation of those trades that exceed the specifications of the core trading system.
We are currently transforming our technology infrastructure in line with the bank's strategic initiatives.
Main Job Function
The role is to be a front/middle/back office facing support analyst to join the existing production services team.
The primary responsibility is to ensure the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of production systems, and realize the maximum value from them through continual technical and business process improvement.
The candidate should be an excellent communicator, good with users, able to work well in a cross-discipline team and alone with minimum supervision. Pro-active, thorough, organized and energetic. Excellent problem solver with a commitment to thorough root cause analysis and business process improvement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To be first line of contact for the Equity Derivatives Technology in location
• To develop specialist knowledge in equity derivative systems, sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
• To liaise with Front, Middle and Back office on potential process improvements
• To liaise with Development teams on future applications for EDT
• To take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate
• To pro-actively improve the quality of systems and service, and increase business value
• To undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas:- capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting and documentation
• To undertake focused, tactical development tasks as required
• To uphold and champion policies, procedures and standards
• To ensure efficient and accurate processing of upstream/downstream feeds and reports from the batch environment.
Qualifications/Education Required
2.1 or better degree in computing or a numerate/business subject

3+ years investment banking technology experience in a financial/trading application support role. Equities product knowledge
Experience Preferred
Equity Derivative products knowledge (or other derivatives)
