In a small southern Israeli town, a gang of juvenile immigrants from the former USSR is looking for trouble, or rather, trouble is looking for them. These are the "suitcase kids" who neither feel they belong here, nor want to. Their leader is Slava (22), married and a father to a baby boy. When his wife throws him out, he finds shelter at Victor`s - an owner of a delicatessen who used to be a soccer coach. Victor convinces Slava to put together a football team and participate in a local tournament. The lure: a large cash prize and the belief that his wife will take him back.
Slava recruits his friends: Muchtar ("The Fly"), a tough guy involved in his brother`s criminal activities; Banutchka ("Bung"), an abused kid on drugs; Vitali, a foreign worker from the Ukraine; and Kastyl ("Crutches"), the only one still in school. Now all that`s left to do is overcome the strife with the Moroccan gang, the town hall bureaucrats, the police officer, Alfred, Muchtar`s violent brother and Kastyl`s brokenleg, and most importantly - to manage to get up in the morning free of drugs and alcohol to go to practice.
