A small fixed-wing aircraft has crashed into the 20th floor of a 50-story residential building on York Ave and 73rd St. Firefighters are battling a 3 alarm fire on three floors of the building. There is also a fire on the ground resulting from debris and a heavy fuel spill. Injuries are unknown at this time . 524 East 72nd St has been evacuated. LaGuardia International Airport is closed at this time.

Reports indicate that LaGuardia Airport has reopened, with delays. There is a temporary flight restriction within a one-mile radius of the incident. .......

Остается надеяться, что те, кто там живет, были на работе...
Один этаж, кажется. потушили.
Такое впечатление, что горели две квартиры на двух этажах, одна над другой.

За штурвалом сидел спортсмен, недавно приобрел самолет, стаж полетов меньше 100 часов, интсруктор был рядом, но.....

Lidle presumed dead in NYC plane crash
NEW YORK - A small plane carrying New York Yankee Cory Lidle slammed into a 50-story skyscraper Wednesday, apparently killing the pitcher and a second person in a crash that rained flaming debris onto the sidewalks and briefly raised fears of another terrorist attack.

говорят, что более 400 часов. Но это безобразие, что для частных самолётов Хадсон [unrestricted zone]. Могут ведь и со взрывчаткой летать мимо Манхэттена...

.... Well, it proves once again that morons can't fly (remember Kennedy, Jr.) What people forget, is that those fed up with life celebrities kill other people!!!!! when they are flying around for fun without adequate flight experience.

А хаза вроде как не жилая. Никого не видно было за окнами.
И вроде как пожарные минут за 20 притушили все там...Во всяком случае уже в 15:22 только белый дым шел и вода во все стороны лилась...
