good afternoon
probably it's been discussed already, but i couldn't find it...
what are my rights as far as traveling abroad with my Green Card?
For example if american citizen doesn't need a visa to go let's say to France does a Green Card holder need a visa? In other words can I enter some European countries using my Green Card or do I still have to get a visa in my russian passport?
Thank you very much!

Well, you have to ask at the Consulates of the European countries you intend to travel to. As far as I know, only Switzerland (in continental Europe) allows American Permanent Residents to enter the country without a visa as tourists. All Shengen States require a visa for Russian citizens even if they are GC holders.

Switzerland and Canada do not ask for visa from GC holders.
All other countries do, and requirements are roughly the same, as for Russians in Russia- letter from work , hotel reservations or invitation from a friend and so on.
