I submitted my vaccination and physical exam info in January 2006 (as requested). So, should I be receiving my GC sometime this year, or it is indefinite wait?

Depending on a state you live in you will get an interview some time from 3 month to 2 years from now, if everything goes well you will get your status right away and your green card in the mail couple of weeks later.
