STRONG Financial History Background a must. (Must have worked for companies like Merrill Lynch, J P Morgan,Fidelity, Putnam, Other investments firms, or Banks, or Credit Card companies like CITIBANK,MBNA etc… or Mortagagee Industry like Fannie Mae, Sallie Mae, Freddie Mac, Folio etc etc…)

SUN SOLARIES UNIX administrators experience a must.


Key skills:
· Sunfire 4800 and/or Sunfire 6800

Job Description for Solaris System Administrator

Qualifications

· Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree and/or experience

· Five years of system administration experience in a UNIX production business environment with substantial knowledge of the UNIX operating system, and Solaris 8 experience on a variety of Sun Hardware.
· Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent tasks in a highly dynamic environment
· Proficiency working in an environment running 10BaseT and 100BaseT TCP/IP networks.
· Proficiency in operating in an environment using LDAP, NIS+, and DNS name services.
· Clearly demonstrated communication and teaming skills. Must be able to convey information concerning problems, solutions, or task to other team members for resolution or implantation. Must be able to clearly convey to customers information concerning solutions and projects.

Responsibilities

· The system administrator will work on Sun hardware (e.g., E250, E420R, E5500, E6500, Vl120, V280, V480, V4800, V4900, V6800 and V6900 models). Hardware knowledge on the different types of components of servers is required, including assembly, replacing hardware, installing new hardware, defining configurations for upgrades, such as adding memory or CPUs, as well as working with other team members to accurately describe technical conditions and be able to effectively convey descriptions of issues with respect to hardware in order to resolve problems in a timely fashion.
· Will configure and support multiple domains on SunFire midrange servers. Will perform H/W work and must be familiar with Sun Microsystems methods of dynamically reconfiguring boards and components on these servers.
· Will perform tasks related to managing SUN Disk Storage. This includes using Veritas Volume Manager command line commands to create, grow, and/or mirror new volumes and file systems. Must be able to perform this work in accordance with our standards and demonstrate the knowledge and experience with Veritas and RAID devices to apply these standards.
· Will work with the SAN (Storage Area Network) team to import SAN Storage to servers. Must be able to correctly import these LUNS and set them up for use. This includes creating disk groups or adding these LUNs to existing disk groups, using Veritas Volume Manager to create volumes on these disks and make them available as File systems to the customers.
· Will be required to diagnose performance or reliability issues in N-tier systems. Must have working knowledge of server systems that support multi-tier web enabled applications and be able to diagnose and trouble shoot problems that may occur on any of the components or at the interfaces between components. Must have experience supporting servers supporting BEA WebLogic and JMS systems with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recover components.
· The system administrator will run UNIX commands from UNIX shells, and be able to operate in csh or ksh environment. The system administrator will be expected to be proficient in commands without having to consult manual pages for most general operations. The system administrator will be expected to review or write shell scripts and understand general shell scripting practices. Must have knowledge of programming or writing shell scripts in languages such as Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, or Perl.
· Set up network interfaces on servers, trouble shoot, and resolve network issues related to the servers. Must understand basic networking items such as Ethernet, ARP, netmasks, how to use ifconfig to configure network interfaces, understand the information returned from networking commands such as ifconfig, netstat, and traceroute. Will use these commands to identify problems with network connections or exclude the network as a source of problems.
· In their normal duties the system administrator will be called on to perform the following customer service functions: setting customer expectations and working with customers to achieve best results; demonstrate cooperative teaming skills to achieve results that cannot be derived from the system administrators actions alone; and the ability to collaborate within a cross functional team.
